00:00Thanks Amy, still waiting for the
00:07Scotland players to
00:11make their way back out
00:13I haven't come back yet, that's the subs
00:19making their way
00:20across the pitch
00:23for one final 45 minutes
00:25of the
00:262024-25 season
00:28and what a season it's been
00:30across the board
00:32for Scotland certainly
00:34it's been a bit mixed
00:37poor start to the Nations League campaign
00:40off the back of a poor European Championship
00:42the ship was steady
00:45to the point that they almost
00:46managed to secure a place
00:48in
00:50League A for the next time around
00:52when that tournament starts again next year
00:54unfortunately
00:56it will be League B
00:58and that is for
01:01another time
01:02it's about the World Cup
01:03for that man
01:04by games player
01:06he's the longest serving
01:08Scotland manager
01:09since Craig Brown
01:09did charge his 71 matches
01:11Clark can surpass him
01:13when they face
01:14Belarus at home
01:15in October
01:16which will make him the longest serving
01:19individual head coach
01:21of the national team
01:22of course the
01:24ninth manager
01:26to lead Scotland
01:27to a major tournament
01:28and just the fourth
01:29to do it more than once
01:30Steen
01:31Roxburgh
01:32and Brown
01:33the others
01:33so no changes
01:40by the look of things
01:41for the start of the
01:41second half
01:42for Scotland
01:43but there is a change
01:44for Liechtenstein
01:45and they are taking off
01:46the goalkeeper
01:47Benjamin Buchhol
01:48who's been replaced
01:50by Justin Ospelt
01:52who plays in the fourth tier
01:54in Germany
01:55with FSV Frankfurt
01:57in Scotland
02:01it is same as
02:03against Liechtenstein
02:07the only country
02:07to lose official matches
02:09against San Marino
02:10they've lost three of them
02:12including twice
02:13in the Nations League
02:14last year
02:14just five nations
02:16below them
02:16in the world rankings
02:17including
02:18the San Marinese
02:19and the British
02:21and US Virgin Islands
02:22so this is
02:25the very
02:25definition
02:27of a footballing
02:28minnow
02:29that Scotland
02:30are up against
02:31this evening
02:312-0 up
02:33they are
02:34at the start
02:37of the second half
02:37as they shoot
02:38from left to right
02:39the Scotland supporters
02:41around about us
02:42here in the
02:42the main stand
02:44but also
02:44off to our right
02:46behind the Liechtenstein goal
02:48so they'll be hoping
02:48to see plenty
02:49balls hit the back
02:51of that net
02:51in the second half
02:53Steve Clarke
02:55resisting the
02:55temptation
02:56James
02:57to
02:58make any changes
02:59at the start
03:00of the second half
03:01yeah
03:02it's not surprising
03:04the guy speaking about me
03:05doesn't like to make
03:06change for the sake of change
03:07but I would expect
03:08there'll be
03:08a few changes
03:10as the half wears on
03:12I'd like to see
03:13the introduction
03:14of some of the players
03:16that maybe haven't
03:16been involved
03:17or haven't
03:19managed to get on the pitch
03:20so
03:20I'm pretty sure
03:21we'll see subs
03:22as the game goes on
03:23that's a lovely ball
03:24by Gilmore
03:25Adams remember
03:25on a hat trick
03:26lays it back
03:28to Ferguson
03:29and it will be
03:30a corner only
03:31it's put behind
03:33by Travair
03:34that's a couple
03:35of balls now
03:36nearly on in the half
03:38in behind
03:38trying to
03:40exploit that space
03:41that Liechtenstein
03:41are leaving
03:42Scotland hoping
03:49to get to
03:50what would be
03:51a long overdue
03:52ninth World Cup
03:53finals
03:53qualify for five
03:56consecutively
03:57between 1974
03:58and 1990
04:00Robertson's corner
04:06Miller
04:08keeps it alive
04:09on the other side
04:10McKenna
04:11yesterday
04:16it'd been
04:1735 years
04:18to the day
04:19since the start
04:20of the
04:20iconic
04:22Italia 90
04:23tournament
04:24Scotland
04:31were very much
04:32part of
04:32just one
04:34World Cup
04:34final since
04:35then
04:35though
04:35McGinn
04:39he's going
04:41to have a go
04:41here
04:42it was well
04:43worth it as
04:44well
04:45Ralston
04:47across
04:48and Hurst
04:49and 3-0
04:52and now he
04:54has got his
04:55first international
04:56goal
04:56having been
04:58thwarted the
04:58other night
04:59and Scotland
05:00who scored
05:01early in the
05:01first half
05:02scored early
05:03in the second
05:04very much
05:06easy street
05:07now
05:07yeah it is
05:08it's been
05:09again a good
05:10start to the
05:10second half
05:11in terms of
05:11the tempo
05:12looking to get
05:12the ball forward
05:13getting behind
05:14we know as this
05:15comes to John
05:15McGinn
05:15you can see
05:16Ralston
05:16coming into
05:17your picture
05:17to create
05:18the space
05:18expecting him
05:20potentially to
05:21go far
05:21post
05:22I think
05:22that's a
05:22decent save
05:23actually for
05:23the goalkeeper
05:24and Adams
05:26gets the first
05:27header
05:27and Hurst
05:27like all good
05:28strikers
05:28anticipating where
05:30the ball is
05:30going to land
05:31I don't think
05:32it comes off
05:32the post
05:32I don't think
05:33it is a save
05:33but a good
05:35boost for
05:36George Hurst
05:36to get his
05:36first goal
05:37great striker
05:38instinct to
05:39follow that
05:40in at the
05:40back post
05:40yeah I mean
05:43this is the
05:43perfect game
05:44to get
05:45monkeys off
05:46backs
05:47when it comes
05:48to goal
05:48scoring in
05:49particular
05:49absolutely
05:50I think as
05:51well to get
05:51control of the
05:52game and
05:52play some
05:53passes but
05:54certainly for
05:55the strikers
05:55there's no
05:56doubt that
05:56both of them
05:57coming into
05:57this game
05:58won't be
05:59thinking about
05:59just scoring
06:00one goal
06:00as Shea Adams
06:01has got two
06:01it'll be a
06:02great chance
06:03to get
06:03goals
06:04not just
06:05a goal
06:05certainly
06:07the start
06:08to the first
06:09half was good
06:09the start
06:10to the second
06:10half was good
06:11as well
06:12and it's important
06:13that that tempo
06:14doesn't drop
06:15especially for the
06:16strikers they want
06:17more goals
06:18absolutely
06:19two goals and
06:23an assist now
06:24for Shea Adams
06:25that's a benefit
06:33I'm sorry
06:33of having your
06:35two strikers
06:35Adams can go
06:36and attack the
06:36front post
06:37and he gets
06:38something on it
06:39and then you've
06:40got the
06:40Hurst that can go
06:42and gamble
06:42at the back post
06:43if he doesn't
06:44connect as clean
06:45as he would like
06:45and that's
06:46exactly what
06:46happened
06:47that's the
06:47benefit
06:47when you've
06:48got the
06:48one striker
06:49sometimes that
06:50striker needs
06:50to make
06:50decisions
06:51does he go
06:51front
06:51does he hang
06:52out in the
06:52middle
06:52and anticipate
06:53and wait
06:54to see where
06:54the ball's
06:54going
06:55or does he
06:55gamble
06:55at the back
06:56post
06:56you've
06:56got two
06:57as long
06:57as they make
06:58those runs
06:58you put it
06:59in the area
06:59then they've
06:59got a great
07:00chance of scoring
07:00I don't think
07:03the Lichtenstein
07:04coach
07:05Conrad
07:05was too
07:07impressed
07:07with that
07:08goal
07:09he felt
07:09there was
07:09a foul
07:10and the
07:11build-up
07:12to it
07:12going by
07:13his reaction
07:30couple more
07:36Lichtenstein
07:37changes coming
07:38up
07:38just in the
07:48wake of that
07:48third Scotland
07:49goal
07:49she's not
07:51waited long
07:52into the
07:52second half
07:53before deciding
07:54to
07:54make these
07:57alterations
07:58albeit maybe
07:58Scotland's third
07:59goal has
07:59forced his
08:00hand
08:00that's a
08:04finish
08:05from a number
08:06nine is it
08:06not
08:07absolutely
08:08I think the
08:08three goals
08:09tonight have
08:10been good
08:10goals for
08:11the strikers
08:11you know
08:12Adams first
08:12instinctive
08:13good touch
08:14to get out
08:14of his feet
08:15second one
08:15again is the
08:16speed in which
08:17he cuts inside
08:18wrong foot's
08:19the goalkeeper
08:19in Hust
08:20they're scoring
08:20the goal
08:21that strikers
08:21love
08:21following that
08:22in at the
08:23back post
08:23for a tap
08:24in
08:24they're bringing
08:26off Luque
08:27and
08:29Kindley
08:31and on
08:35comes
08:35Andre
08:36Netzer
08:36spent his
08:39whole career
08:39in
08:40Liechtenstein
08:40and
08:44Livio
08:44Meyer
08:45comes on
08:46as well
08:46local
08:51to
08:52Vaduz
08:53both play
08:58their
08:58club football
08:59in
09:00Lechtenstein
09:01the vast
09:04majority
09:04of the
09:05squad
09:05do
09:06and
09:10so
09:10a
09:10couple
09:11of
09:11light
09:11for light
09:12changes
09:12there
09:12Netzer's
09:14a striker
09:14so he's
09:15come on
09:15playing that
09:17position
09:17though he
09:17can play
09:17midfield
09:18as well
09:18Meyer
09:20very much
09:20a
09:20defensive
09:22minded
09:23player
09:23lost all
09:41three of
09:42their
09:42world
09:42cup
09:42qualifiers
09:43for next
09:44summer's
09:44tournament
09:44I believe
09:45it
09:45in
09:45North
09:46Macedonia
09:48and
09:49Kazakhstan
09:50here
09:50and
09:50Cardiff
09:51against
09:52the
09:52Welsh
09:52on
09:52Friday
09:53good to
10:03see some
10:03changes
10:03now
10:04for
10:04Scotland
10:04Liam
10:05just to
10:05give
10:06boys a
10:06chance
10:07to get
10:07a decent
10:08run out
10:08you're
10:11looking at
10:11players like
10:12Andy Roberts
10:13and John
10:13McGinn
10:13play a lot
10:14of games
10:14Billy Gilmer
10:15maybe a
10:17chance to
10:17go and
10:17see
10:18Andy Irvin
10:20Doig
10:20you look at
10:21the two
10:21strikers
10:22have scored
10:22as well
10:22James
10:23James
10:23Wilson
10:24Keidan
10:24Bowie
10:24Connor
10:29Barron
10:29as well
10:29comes into
10:30that
10:30equation
10:31and they've
10:33got
10:33five of
10:35them out
10:35doing a
10:35warm up
10:36out of
10:36your
10:36picture
10:36right
10:37now
10:37with a
10:39young
10:39James
10:40Wilson
10:40people
10:41hit
10:45him
10:46thanks to
10:48Adams
10:50you expect
10:50Adams to
10:51shoot any
10:52sight of
10:52goal he
10:52gets
10:53he doesn't
10:53know how
10:54much longer
10:54he'll be on
10:55the pitch
10:55for
10:55play the
10:56whole game
10:57of course
10:57but
10:57you would
10:59imagine that
11:00Steve Clark
11:02I want to see
11:02James Wilson
11:03and Keenan
11:03Bowie at some
11:04point
11:04Yeah, I think so, but I think Shatham, as much as he's been on the hat-trick for a while,
11:09he hasn't got desperate and tried to, you know, force it.
11:14He still looked to play.
11:16There's Miller.
11:19Swept away by Lars Traber.
11:31Robertson.
11:32McGinn.
11:34Ferguson's facing the wrong way.
11:41We'd have loved to have been facing the goal there.
11:43We know the goal threat of Lewis Ferguson.
11:52Gilmore has only ever scored for Scotland.
11:57Hasn't managed it for a club team yet.
11:59He's got two for Scotland.
12:09Enjoy on this occasion.
12:1040th cap for Billy Gilmore tonight.
12:22Remember, his impressive showing against England at Wembley, Euro 2020, the delayed tournament.
12:27Of course, a positive coronavirus test ruled him out of the Croatia game, which everyone was bitterly disappointed about, given that performance he put in in North London a few days before.
12:41Of course, does enough to force the corner.
13:00Of course, does enough to force the corner.
13:00Come off Meyer.
13:03Come off Meyer.
13:03Scotland changes are coming, with the looks of it.
13:19The bibs are coming off.
13:22It's back to Gilmore.
13:23Gilmore resisted the temptation to hit it first time.
13:31There's a card coming out here.
13:32It's for the substitute net, sir.
13:38Foul in Rolston.
13:39Yeah, I thought Gilmore should still have hit it.
13:41It was a bit high.
13:42Probably higher than Lennon Miller would have wanted when he hits it out to him.
13:47I still thought he could have taken that on first time, Gilmore.
13:50Poorly executed that time.
14:13It's Hurst who's the man back to mop up.
14:17It's taking him a while, Ross Duhin, to get himself into the Scotland squad.
14:34Obviously, the well-documented goalkeeping problems have resulted in it coming for this one.
14:40He was in the under-21s many times.
14:43He was actually a teammate of Nathan Patterson and Lewis Ferguson at that level.
14:50Josh Doig and Andy Irving are going to be on for Scotland any moment now.
14:56That was the foul that wanted to diello.
15:23so another
15:28long but successful season
15:31for Andy Robertson is over
15:32and the same can be said for John McGinn
15:34Robertson winning
15:37his second Premier League
15:39title with Liverpool
15:40interesting times ahead for him
15:43the name
15:45Milos Kerkhez won't go away
15:47he's viewed as the long term successor
15:53to Robertson at Anfield
15:55John McGinn
15:57Champions League quarter finalist
15:59comes off and
16:00get a chance to have a look
16:02a couple of
16:04different players now
16:06a debut for Josh Doig
16:08he plays for Sassuolo
16:09he's just been promoted back to the top flight
16:11in Italy
16:12and on comes Andy Irving of West Ham United
16:16for his debut
16:17Lennon Miller's cross
16:20it's a good ball as well
16:22Hurst waiting at the back
16:24to knock that home
16:26and it's just flicked away from him
16:27by Malin
16:29it's a couple of cases it's happened
16:31but the position that Hurst picks up
16:33very good
16:34and you just expect it to dip over
16:37Malin's head
16:38it's good defending
16:40good ball in from Lennon Miller
16:42Miller's corner
16:51Miller's corner
16:51Miller's corner
16:52Whit Gilmore looked like he was
16:57wiped out there
16:58Miller touching it back
17:02Doig's effort
17:03off target
17:04there's been some introduction
17:10former Hibs player
17:16Josh Doig
17:17let go by Hearts
17:20as a youngster
17:20we need a productive couple of seasons
17:23at Hibernian
17:24move to Verona
17:27a few years ago now
17:30as I said he's
17:31with Sassuolo
17:32we've
17:33bounced back to the
17:35top flight in Italy
17:37at the first time
17:37of asking
17:38well
17:50Osbelt
17:51the sub goalie
17:53not lacking confidence
17:54absolutely
17:55he does really well
17:57his teammates
17:58can't follow up
18:00Andy Irving's
18:09an interesting story
18:10isn't it
18:11his career
18:11it's rather

20:29It's Gilmour for Adams.
20:54It's another fabulous ball.
20:59It's a joy to watch.
21:03That, not so much.
21:05No.
21:06It isn't, but some of the passing from Lennon Miller has been outstanding.
21:11No surprise.
21:12He's so relaxed and composed on the ball.
21:14Well, apologies if you're offended by any of the language that might be getting picked
21:37up by the microphones during this live football match.
21:41I think it's safe to say that there's not much in the way of sympathy being doled out
21:51by the Tartan army.
21:53There's the stricken Lichtensteiner.
21:58There's the skipper Hassler.
22:00They're going to make the change here with Fabio Hulfinger coming on.
22:14Here comes the captain near the other end of his career.
22:26Played Scotland a couple of times in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
22:30His replacement scored for Lichtenstein when he did so against Luxembourg in a friendly five
22:44years ago.
22:44We're going to be seeing Nathan Patterson and Tommy Conway momentarily.
23:02Ralston to Gilmore.
23:11There's Miller.
23:13There's Miller.
23:16Couldn't quite work it back to Ferguson.
23:20And they want it back in double quick time.
23:22Here is McKenna.
23:25Irving to Doig.
23:43Conway coming on.
23:55Will it be for Hurst or Adams?
23:59Adams still on that hat trick.
24:00He won't want to come off.
24:02Neither will Hurst.
24:03Yeah.
24:05And I think when you're playing a game like this, the players don't want to come off.
24:07And there's one for the cameras.
24:21Gilmore looking for Hurst just a bit too much on it though.
24:27Ralspelt grabs onto it.
24:30Ralspelt grabs onto it.
24:33And a foul by Ralston.
24:46He's about to come off.
24:47I would imagine.
24:49Indeed.
24:50Hurst is up.
24:52So Nathan Patterson will replace him.
24:54Nathan Patterson, one of those who missed last summer's Euros because of the injury problems
25:00that beset Steve Clarke's squad.
25:04Hurst is up.
25:06Kevan and Hickey.
25:07Think of Lyndon who's in the studio with us today.
25:09Hurst is the one.
25:12Replaced.
25:13And on comes Tommy Conway of Middlesbrough.
25:18Sixth cap for Conway.
25:22Nathan Patterson on for his 23rd Scotland appearance.
25:33Subbed the other night too.
25:35They both were.
25:39He's going to recently manage to force his way back into the Everton first team.
25:46A few appearances towards the end of the season, a few starts as well.
26:03Henry clipping it forward for Adams.
26:13And he's done well.
26:18Looked like he knew where to go there.
26:21He's got the one in the corner.
26:36Goal kick it is.
26:37It's over 20 minutes to play.
26:51And that's good play by Adams.
26:5412 say Paris rattle.
26:56Arommate Orange.
26:58That's good play.
26:59No, Mr.
27:01Darfunks, you Pengenas.
27:01Whatra!
27:02kol야!
27:03Door!
27:04Ty!
27:04college rattle!
27:05swivelств!
27:18It has been a comfortable night.
27:33There's been some really good performances out there.
27:36Nice touches, flicks, passing has been good.
27:41It's been doing it in September, October, November, though.
27:44That's when it's going to matter.
27:50And against much better opposition than this.
28:00Hey, a spot on.
28:02I mean, absolutely not getting carried away with the result of performance tonight.
28:06But it has been good. It's been enjoyable.
28:10It lifts a little bit of the gloom from the game against Iceland.
28:15But the performances are going to have to be better when we go into the qualifying campaign.
28:20Because we've already spoken about Denmark and Greece, two very good sides.
28:26If Scotland can reach their best, then they do have a chance.
28:30As good a chance as those two.
28:32Yeah, and they've obviously changed the configuration of the qualifying groups of UEFA.
28:36And it will resemble last year's Nations League section.
28:40You think that these things used to be played out over two seasons.
28:47In groups of five or six, in fact, was the one you guys came so close to getting through.
28:56And not a seven-team group seemed to go on forever, that campaign.
28:58Yeah, it was a big group.
28:59I mean, it was just the two World Cup finalists and quarter-finalists that you had to contend with in that section.
29:08So heartbreaking at the end of that.
29:10I mean, if you beat France twice, you're likely to expect to qualify.
29:19There's Doig.
29:21Goalkeeper.
29:22There's enough.
29:24He's in a couple of goes since coming on.
29:26Yeah, he has.
29:27It's a good play again, down the left-hand side.
29:30Conway with his arms in the air there.
29:31I think that the option for Doig is to go and fire that to the back post.
29:36But it's a not bad angle for him to get the shot away.
29:40If he fires to the back post, then Conway's got to tap in.
29:43Shea Adams again at the heart of it.
29:45Shea Adams again at the heart of it.
29:53From Miller.
29:55Doig trying to get the flick on at the near post.
30:02Conway for Patterson.
30:06Well, it's really good play by Scotland.
30:09It's energetic.
30:12The subs helping with that, of course.
30:14Patterson a threat down the right-hand side of the box.
30:19Draws another corner.
30:22Yeah, it's about keeping the tempo and the intent to go and attack.
30:26It's certainly been there.
30:28You can tell the players are enjoying themselves, and quite rightly so.
30:32Going from Irving and headed over by Hendry.
30:35Yeah, so it's a four-team group Scotland will be in.
30:45And it will all be done between September and November.
30:50Talking about this on Friday, there's just so little margin for error
30:56in a section as small as that.
30:59You could probably, if you want to win the group,
31:03you might actually not be able to afford a single defeat.
31:07One at most.
31:09If you want to win the group, you would think.
31:12Yeah, absolutely.
31:13You think it's going to be quite a tight section, don't you?
31:15Yeah, I do, I do.
31:16I think that if Scotland play at the best,
31:18then they can absolutely win games against Greece and Denmark.
31:23But, you know, they have to play each other as well.
31:26So I do think it will be a tight group.
31:28And as much as it's difficult, you know, going to Denmark in the opening game,
31:31you could really lay a marker down as well if you look at it from the other point of view that
31:35if Scotland get it right and get back to the performance levels of the end of the Nations League campaign,
31:41then they've got a real chance to lay a marker down.
31:4512 group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup.
31:5712 runners up go into the playoffs along with the four best place Nations League sides.
32:03to win your group though, to be considered one of those.
32:13Scotland failed to do that, albeit it was a tall order for them.
32:18and they were up against Portugal, Croatia and Poland.
32:2414 group winners to win.
32:2814 ones to win.
32:3015.
32:3315 for the合gen Egg personnel Pride Female Team.
32:3616 sub黨.
32:3816 Acities.
32:40172 joinedtles Although they joined the Pirates away,
32:4315 up in 1545.
32:4815 euros.
32:49Powered to run west to the parade forńsk舺,
32:52.
33:19.
33:22To Doig.
33:29Doig swings it in, it's Conway.
33:32Miller.
33:34He thought about the volley first time there, didn't he?
33:37He could almost see it go through his mind.
33:39Again, similar to the one that comes to Gilmour at the edge of the box,
33:43I thought he should still go and take it on.
33:45Certainly got the technique to execute it.
33:49.
33:54Another couple of Scotland debuts coming up.
33:57The next break in play.
34:00Barron and Bowie.
34:03Ferguson and now Adams, it's come off his handle.
34:14Adams thinks otherwise, but he's having a look-up because he knows Kieran Bowie's coming on.
34:20It will be Conor Barron to replace Billy Gilmour before you assume.
34:30No, you should never assume because it's Lewis Ferguson's the other player coming off.
34:35Adams had a nervy old look over to the touchline, expecting his number to go up there.
34:41As he sits tantalisingly on that hat-trick.
34:46It's Gilmour and Ferguson off and winners in Italy this season, the two of them.
34:52Gilmour winning the league with Natalie.
34:54Ferguson the cup with Bologna.
34:55Conor Barron's been a long time coming for him, I would imagine, getting his full Scotland debut.
35:07And you'll get a look at Kieran Bowie as well, James, in the final, well, 12 minutes or so.
35:14Yeah, I think that Conor Barron, personally for him, I think he's played well this season.
35:20So it's great to see him, you know, get his reward and got on the pitch.
35:25And Kieran Bowie is a player that, as soon as I saw him, I thought his profile certainly suits, you know, the Scotland set-up.
35:32He's a good season, maybe not in terms of his goal return, but he's shown that he's a good player, so it's nice to see him get on.
35:39Yeah, I mean, his season was kind of stymied, wasn't it, by the injury right at the start, not long after joining Hibs.
35:45Yeah, and he's recovered well, you know, it coincides with Hibs obviously having a good season as well.
35:51But, yeah, I liked him as soon as I saw him, Kieran Bowie.
35:56Yeah, I think Hibs certainly, when they signed him, felt it was a bit of a coup.
36:01Being able to bring him to the club and you'll hope for an injury-free campaign next season.
36:10As you can see, the game has been stopped because of an injury to Ferhat Saglam.
36:14I'm the Liechtenstein striker.
36:31The home team are going to their bench again.
36:33Of course, it's friendly substitutions always result in more stoppages.
36:42Scotland seem to, despite the changes, they've managed to keep the tempo up, haven't they?
36:47Yeah, they have and often, you know, when a lot of changes are made, the rhythm and the tempo goes out of the game.
36:52But you see players that are hungry to come on and do well.
36:55And certainly, you know, they have kept it up.
36:58I mean, being greedy, you want to see a few more goals.
37:01But I think that overall you can see it's, you know, the players that started and the ones that have come on.
37:07There's a group of players that are enjoying the game.
37:12There's a group of players that have come on and the players that have come on and the players that have come on.
37:19And they're going to take off Luke Hingar.
37:24Replace him with Willy Pizzi.
37:28Pizzi, who was born in Italy in Lecce, Emmanuel Zund coming on as well in his debut in their
37:43infamous match against San Marino in the Nations League, in it comes, it's taken away from
37:51Henry, he was in a good position on the six-yard line, it was Doig who eventually got the flick
37:59onto it but it seemed that his teammate was in a better position.
38:21It's a perfect game for these guys to come into, isn't it?
38:41Absolutely, plenty of touches of the ball, loads of involvement in the game.
38:45Well, Conor Barron caught Goldfinger there, it was pretty innocuous, Barron was in, looked
39:01like he was in control of the ball.
39:02Yeah, it's just not even the follow-through, as Barron goes to kick the ball he just puts
39:08his foot under, look at, under his foot, and Barron stands on him but it's just unfortunate.
39:18I mean, it's a sore one but you could hear that when the contact was made.
39:34He's not trying to do that, Conor Barron, there's nowhere else for his foot to go.
39:37He's not trying to do that because the time was made, he's not trying to do it.
40:00There's Patterson, Miller, and a good play by Bowie for Doig.
40:30There's a touch for Ross Doohan.
40:43Yeah, he's been pretty quiet tonight. Underlocked, I'm sure he'll be delighted with that.
40:55Wonder if he goes back out for the second half of his holiday after this.
41:01It's funny, you've been speaking to a few of the players over the course of the last week during this camp,
41:07and they're all talking about holidays. Looking forward to getting away.
41:12Yeah, no wonder it's been a long season for a lot of them.
41:16It's certainly a chance to go and recharge and look forward to next season,
41:21especially nowadays, players barely get any rest, so it's no wonder they're looking forward to it.
41:25Now, this is the last game of the season.
41:32The next campaign is just a month away.
41:34The League Cup groups start.
41:37Of course, the qualifying campaign for those looking to get into the Champions League,
41:45Europa League, Conference League.
41:50Comes around fast these days.
41:51Ga'an JГБ!
41:58Ga'an J.
41:59Pian.
42:01Ga'an J.
42:03Paarão!
42:35So important for Scotland to be in that World Cup group, being in the meat of it and having a good number of points on the board because when you look at the final fixture it's at home to the Danes. That could be a really special night if they're in amongst it at that point.
42:50Absolutely. And I think that's the beauty of having a smaller group that all the games are big games. And as I said obviously the aim is always to go off to a good start and it's a tough opening fixture.
43:03But we've got a great opportunity to, as I keep saying, lay a marker down and remind everyone that we're a good team and this isn't going to carry the way off the back of this performance.
43:16But we've shown at times against the bigger nations, or certainly nations that are expected to beat us, that we're more than a match for them. It's about getting back to that.
43:24And hopefully, from a Scotland point of view, keeping as many of these players fit as they can.
43:33Because there's no doubt that that's had a huge impact, not just the Nations League this season, but the European Championship last summer.
43:45And the thing is, as much as Scotland have got a lot of good players, once you start losing two, three or four of them, you're taking away from the squad. You're taking away players who are operating at the highest level potentially.
43:57Yeah, absolutely.
43:58You can't afford that.
43:58I think you always want your best players available, and a lot of the time that isn't always the case. But when you come into the campaign, you certainly want to be in great position, great health, going into that.
44:11I think one player we've definitely missed is Ben Doak, no doubt. And hopefully he'll be back and he'll be ready for the campaign starting.
44:20The faddy fan club's in front of us. There's not much happening on the pitch, so...
44:24That's why they work here, come on!
44:25You see the cheeser he's got on his face here.
44:31You just take the adulation. I'll do the rest of the game.
44:35This isn't sunburn.
44:41Scott McKenna wins it back.
44:44Well, there may well be more caps on the horizon for Ross Doan. He is likely to go back to Celtic after his couple of years at Aberdeen.
44:57He was down at Forest Green Rovers as well. Remember him as a youngster at Air United.
45:01But given the positive goalkeepers that Scotland have right now, top-class goalkeepers, he might well get his chance.
45:12This might not be his only cap.
45:14Yeah, well, I think that...
45:15I mean, even if it is, it's a special thing to have, obviously.
45:19I think it might be tough because you're getting behind two very good goalkeepers.
45:23And, you know, the amount of games that he gets could be an issue.
45:28You look at Scott Bain and the decision to go out and play first-team football.
45:32Maybe, you know, that's a view of, you know, the situation with Scotland.
45:37So, it is a tough one.
45:39And we haven't seen. We don't know.
45:41You know, he's not been tested.
45:42But I think that, you know, for Ross doing it, it's about...
45:46I think he's had a decent season when he's been called upon.
45:48He's done well at Aberdeen.
45:50So, it's a little reward for that.
45:53And surely, certainly one he won't forget.
45:55OK.
46:12And a much-needed win in the post here for Steve Clarke.
46:24Just four of them in the previous 21 matches.
46:27He said right at the start tonight that it was unthinkable that they wouldn't win this match.
46:49Here's Doig.
46:50He's made an impact since coming on.
46:52Yeah, he has.
46:56It's only half clear.
46:57Here's Patterson.
47:00And Irving.
47:07Another back to Irving.
47:09It's not the worst ball in the world either.
47:11And it's Adams.
47:12And all he needed was a little touch.
47:14And he's got his hat-trick.
47:16But he's running out of time.
47:18Yeah, it's an opportunity, isn't it?
47:20It's good play.
47:20Patient play again.
47:22And he's got a great chance to get something on.
47:25And I wonder if he could have went with his right foot.
47:28Just trying to flick that beyond all spelt and goals.
47:30To the first of two minutes at the end.
47:37I think in games like this as well, you see, you know, sometimes it's really difficult to break down teams that want to sit in and defend.
47:47But Scotland have, you know, run about their business very well.
47:50Look to get balls in behind, crosses into the box.
47:53There have been opportunities.
47:55And it's not always easy.
47:56As much as you'd expected to win and you'd expected to win comfortably, which Scotland have, doesn't always play out like that.
48:02And I say that, you know, at half-time that the early goal certainly helps with that.
48:06Nicely done by Barron.
48:21Adams.
48:22Adams.
48:22In Scotland fashion, one last opportunity.
48:28Irving, he's going to have a pop, but it's blocked by Traver.
48:45He's going to have a pop, but it's blocked by Traver.
49:15Nice little chip by Barron.
49:18Can't wait.
49:20It's an across from Adams.
49:21He's done it.
49:24With just about the last touch of the ball in this game, Shea Adams gets his hat-trick.
49:33And a wonderful moment for him.
49:36And a fourth goal for Scotland.
49:38Yeah, it is.
49:39Delighted for him.
49:40And it's a great play again.
49:41Connor Barron.
49:42Love a little weighty pass over the top.
49:45And that is a good cross as well from Conway.
49:48Shea Adams, like all good strikers, getting in the right position to go and get his well-deserved hat-trick.
49:55First hat-trick scored by a Scotland player since 2019 when John McGinn did so against San Marino.
50:02This is the kind of game where you do, as a striker, have that kind of opportunity.
50:10And Adams snapped that one up, having scored so early in the game.
50:15You've got a double in that first half.
50:19George Hurst got the other just after the interval.
50:22Adams completing his hat-trick in second half stoppage time.
50:25And Scotland finished the season with a...
50:29Andachie Chazar vessels were veryident.
50:30Just like this fall.
50:30We've got a double in that there.
50:31But I have a love choSO.
50:32And if you want me to try and write that man to the top of the game.
50:32Let's hear it.
50:34I haven't gotten to the bases aware.
50:34Well, let's get into this.
50:35So old man is hoje.
50:36Actually, I've made some nightmares.
50:40I will tell you the first time when you get over this.
50:47Wait, this is even.
50:53And it's been something that I've ever seen.
