00:00How do we know the difference? Vegetarians are more power hungry than meat eaters. How do we know that?
00:05Well, this is a survey that's done by the University of Warsaw, basically.
00:10And vegetarians, I don't eat meat and I haven't done for a long time,
00:13I have this sort of like tree huggy, we're all kind and lovely.
00:16Miriam's still sninging about fingers.
00:19We have this reputation for being all nice and cuddly and tree huggy and we love animals.
00:23But this survey has proven that we are more power hungry and aggressive and dynamic than people that eat meat.
00:31Evidently.
00:32So vegetarianism is a political statement then?
00:35Yeah, absolutely, yeah.
00:37You know, as I said, vegetarians have a greater desire to wield power more than their meat eating counterparts.
00:44I mean, you like a sausage, don't you, Biggin?
00:45I like a sausage, but I have gone off meat per se, funnily enough, as I'm getting older.
00:50I think there are, you know, it takes a lot of eating a piece of meat, if you part of the expression.
00:57And the older you get, the more you find that it takes a lot of meat.
01:00Yeah, exactly.
01:02I must admit, I have more of a conscience about eating meat as I get older.
01:07Yeah.
01:08And that's a fondness of animals brings that.
01:11And have you ever go on Instagram and you look at cows and horses and pigs?
01:16They're wonderful.
01:17They're all affectionate and incredible.
01:18They're gorgeous.
01:19They're gorgeous, yeah?
01:20And there we are, putting it into our mouths.
01:22What do you think about the move to enforce vegetarianism on people, though?
01:26Because, especially in schools and some universities, there's this trend for meat-free Monday, where there's this enforced absence of meat on children.
01:33I think it's ridiculous to let kids eat what they want to be honest with.
01:36Within reason, obviously, a healthy diet, da-da-da-da-da-da.
01:38But, no, I think, you know, I don't eat meat, the husband eats meat.
01:41It's not an issue.
01:42Eat what you want.
01:43But I think that the fact that they're trying to force this into schools, let kids' experiment give them a vegetarian option.
01:50Yes.
01:50Let them see what they're just options.
01:52It has just become political.
01:54And also, there's a lot of misinformation out there.
01:56So, I know children are often told that eating meat is terrible for the environment, but importing avocados thousands of miles is also terrible for the environment.
02:04But also, I mean, a lot of vegetarian meals, certainly processed vegetarian meals, have got a load of salt and fat and sugar in them.
02:11So, they're actually worse for you than eating a lean piece of meat.
02:13I think the tide is turning now because the new trend amongst young people, particularly young men, is protein.
02:18Chicken, breasts, tuna, that's the new trend, to get as much protein in them as possible.
02:23It's very difficult to do when you're vegetarian.
02:25Well, unfortunately, processed food in general, microwave meals and whatever, should just all be banned.
02:31Yeah, I agree.
02:31They're just poisonous food.
02:32They're absolutely ghastly.
02:34And we take them on the basis that, oh, this has got low calories, this should be good for me, whatever it is.
02:38And we are sold a lie that we think is great for us, instead it's poisonous with salt and sugar.
02:43There was a brilliant survey recently about processed meals and about which had the most salt in them.
02:48And the worst offender was Jamie Oliver's ready meal.
02:51I mean, yeah, the turkey twizzler guy, I mean, but his ready meals were full of salt.
02:55It was a survey about which or something or other, about which had the most salt in them.
