00:00Oh my god, Dreamworks!
00:02Guys? Guys?
00:04Tim? Guys, great to see you.
00:06And congratulations. Thank you very much.
00:08Because it's really hard to take a really loved animation and make a great live action.
00:13But you've done that so well.
00:15Thank you very much.
00:16I know Jerry was saying he was breathing a sigh of relief himself.
00:19But it turned out so well.
00:21Yeah.
00:22How did it feel, like, stepping into this world?
00:25Because they built this set around you.
00:28Like, how immersive did it feel to be on the set?
00:31I mean, they really put us in that world.
00:34Like, I didn't know if it was just going to be a bunch of blue screens or what at all.
00:38Because I've never been a part of something like this.
00:40And to get there and be in the arena, be in the village, be in Hiccup's workshop, it's...
00:46I mean, it's insane, you know?
00:48Like, I'm so lucky to have been a part of this.
00:51It was just the most immersive version of making this movie that it could have been.
00:56And I remember the last time that we all went into the arena, it was a very, very emotional kind of...
01:01Because, you know, it felt like kind of leaving a part of home because we'd spent so much time in there.
01:06And because it was so realistic, it honestly does start to kind of feel like it's yours in a way and not just a set.
01:11So leaving it was very, very sad.
01:13Yeah, I can imagine.
01:14Obviously, you've got Gerald Butler playing your dad in here.
01:17Is he the father figure type on set or is he just a big kid?
01:24Both.
01:25Both, in the best ways.
01:26You know, he gives fantastic advice.
01:30Like, we were on a plane flight coming back from Brazil to L.A.
01:34And we talked for about, I think, about three hours and just listening to him talk.
01:39Because he's been in this industry a very long time.
01:41And the things you have to say are very, you know, important and very meaningful to me.
01:46So in a lot of those ways, he's very important to me.
01:49And also, he's just fun.
01:50You know, his energy.
01:51He can...
01:52He is like a big kid.
01:53It's really infectious.
01:54It really is.
01:55Yeah, I love him.
01:56I've interviewed him so many times.
01:57I was saying to him, like, over the years, but he just brings so much energy.
02:00He does, yeah.
02:01He's so great.
02:02He's so lovely to be around.
02:04Obviously, in the film, Hiccup is very keen to make his dad proud.
02:09And I'm curious whether you can remember the first time you thought,
02:13Oh, I really hope this makes my parents proud.
02:15Like, I think I heard, even on your call, when you got the part, you were like,
02:18Mom, did you hear that?
02:19Yeah.
02:20Which is so sweet.
02:21But can you remember the first time when you were like,
02:23Oh, God, I really hope this makes my parents proud?
02:25Yeah.
02:26Well, you know, my parents, them letting me pursue my dream, it was a lot, you know, for
02:36my family.
02:37And, you know, Mom, we got to L.A. and it was just us.
02:39And, you know, we were apart from my dad.
02:41And it was really a lot.
02:43They sacrificed a lot for me to, you know, my dream and spent a lot of money, frankly.
02:48And, you know, the fact that, you know, I got How to Train Your Dragon and Black Phone just
02:52I really want to make them proud.
02:55And I can't wait for my dad to see the film.
02:58He's going to the L.A. premiere for the first time.
02:59Has he seen it yet?
03:00No.
03:01He has not.
03:02So I'm really excited for him to see it.
03:04That's so sweet.
03:05How about you, Nico?
03:06I think the really brilliant thing about both of my parents is that it's kind of, and I
03:11think I can kind of speak for both of my siblings as well when I say this, but the wonderful
03:15thing is that it doesn't really feel like we have to do anything to make them proud.
03:18I think they're just proud generally.
03:20And that's really special because I think, you know, pride doesn't always need to be something
03:26that's earned.
03:27You can just, from people that really love you and care about you, you know, like getting
03:31out of bed in the morning can be a huge deal for some people.
03:33And so I think that my parents are incredibly loving and incredibly supportive.
03:37And so that's definitely something that I really feel.
03:40And so then, you know, wanting to impress them or make them, you know, hoping that they
03:46like something I do is less so about pride and also just because I really value and respect
03:50their opinions.
03:51So I'm very excited.
03:52They're seeing it tonight.
03:53So we'll see.
03:54We'll see how we go.
03:55Oh, that's insane.
03:56So nice.
03:57It's really, oh, that's really sweet.
03:58I'm so glad.
04:00And listen, I know Hiccup is a character who, Mason, you had, like, you've loved since,
04:06well, growing up forever, you know, with the films.
04:09So to obviously be playing that part must be very special.
04:12But for both of you, have you seen, you know, as you've grown up and gone through your careers,
04:17seen characters who were like, oh, if they remake that film, like, I would love to play
04:22that part.
04:23You want to know one that I haven't answered yet?
04:25Yeah, go on.
04:26Um, Rise of the Guardians.
04:28Have you seen that?
04:29Oh, my God, you would be such a good.
04:32Is it that Jack Frost?
04:33Yeah, Jack Frost.
04:34Oh, my God, Mason, you'd be such a good Jack Frost.
04:35I would love that.
04:36That was always like a dream.
04:37You would be so good.
04:38Yeah.
04:39Mine would be Corpse Bride.
04:40It's DreamWorks as well, right?
04:41Yeah, I think so.
04:42DreamWorks.
04:43He's in, he's in.
04:44Um, mine would be Corpse Bride, I think, just always.
04:47Yeah.
04:48I just, I've just grown up with that movie and I just would love, not that it necessarily
04:52needs, you know, to be a live action, but if it does, Tim.
04:55If it does, put it out into the universe.
04:58I mean, you would be great.
04:59That would be lovely.
05:00Wow.
05:01You guys clearly know what you are, you would look good in, because those are great.
05:05Those are great.
05:06Uh, lovely to meet you both.
05:07Good luck.
05:08Likewise.
05:09Thank you for coming.
