Glasgow Warriors' reign as URC champions is over after their semi-final defeat by Leinster in Dublin
Transcript
00:00Hello, it's Graham Bean from The Scotsman at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, where Glasgow
00:05Warriors reign as the champions of the URC has just ended. They've lost in the semi-final
00:12to Leinster by 37 points to 19 in a fairly one-sided match. Leinster outscored the visitors
00:21by six tries to three, and in truth there was a bit of gloss applied to the scoreline
00:26by two late Glasgow tries from Jamie Dobie and Sione Tupulotu. This was a game that Leinster
00:35dominated, particularly in the first half. They led 25-5 at half-time, scoring four tries.
00:41They opened the scoring through Dan Sheehan, who scored two tries in the first half. George
00:48Horne scored a very good try for Glasgow to bring them back into it at 7-5, but then Leinster
00:53ran away with it with three tries in the final 30 minutes of the half. One from Jamie Osborne,
01:00one from Thomas Clarkson, and then Sione with his second. Leinster came out strongly again
01:05in the second period. George Barnard went close, and then Jamie Osborne got his second try before
01:12Hewann Frawley then got in the act. That made the score 37-5, and Leinster were running away
01:18with it at that point, with still 20 minutes left. Then Glasgow did have a late flourish,
01:23as I say, Jamie Dobie scored a good try. Then Tupulotu weaved his way past four or five Leinster
01:28players to score. Tom Jordan converted both those scores, but you know, Glasgow were definitely
01:35second best today. Leinster now go through to the final, which they'll host, not here,
01:40but at Croke Park next weekend. Final score again, Leinster 37, Glasgow Warriors 19.
