00:00I want to thank you for that. That's my pleasure. Thank you very much. Thank you again. Fantastic.
00:04We'll put it up in a place of honor. I don't know, maybe we can, let's see.
00:10We'll have to put it up there someplace. It's an honor to have you. As you know, the
00:15Chancellor just won a great election, very, very strong election, a very respected man. I can tell
00:22you we've been on the phone many times talking about some of the problems of the world outside
00:26of Germany. And it's very sad with what's going on. We both feel that way. What's going on with
00:33Russia, Ukraine and other things we talk about, but Russia, Ukraine in particular,
00:39like to see it end and maybe it'll end. But we get some news. There'll be some fighting.
00:45Something happened a couple of days ago and now they do a return. And, you know, here it goes.
00:51It's not good. He's unhappy about it. I'm unhappy about it. But I think eventually we're going to
00:57be successful in stopping the bloodshed. It's pure bloodshed. 5,000, 6,000 young soldiers a week
01:03are being killed. You know that there's numbers. We know the numbers. They're staggering.
01:08They're staggering numbers. But Chancellor, I just want to congratulate you and I want to
01:12welcome you to the Oval Office. Thank you. It's an Oval Office that's in very good shape.
01:17We like fixing things up and having them tippy top like they have in Germany.
01:22They do that in Germany very much. And we do it here. We're having a very good run. We had a,
01:29I also had a great election, a great win. Won everything. Won the popular vote, the all seven
01:34swing states, which is a big deal. It's pretty unusual to do that. And we have a great mandate
01:39from the people. And part of our mandate is we're going to have a great relationship with your country.
01:44So I just want to thank you very much for being here. And if you'd like to say a few words.
01:50Absolutely. So thank you, first of all, Mr. President, for your kind invitation to come
01:54to Washington, D.C. I was in this building first time ever in 1982. I told you when former
02:01President Ronald Reagan was in office. So I'm very happy to be here again and to offer our close
02:08cooperation with the United States of America. We are having so much in common, our history.
02:14We owe the Americans a lot. We will never forget about that. And so with your German provenance,
02:21I think this is a very good basis for close cooperation between America and Germany. So again,
02:26thank you. Thank you for the hospitality. And thank you for having your guesthouse for a night.
02:33This is a great place. Great place. Many thanks for that. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
02:38It's a wonderful place. It's a landmark also. And Blair House is a nice place to stay.
02:44Thank you very much for saying that.
