Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has accused the Congress-led state government of making the police a "scapegoat" in the incident.  "Officers have been made scapegoats in the entire episode. The FIR that was registered yesterday clearly states that when permission was sought by RCB, KSCA, as well as DNA, it was rejected by the police department. Since the CM insisted on giving permission, permission was only given then. It was ultimately a failure on part of the intelligence department, they could not assess that such a large number of people would gather. They could not assess the situation... Responsibility lies on the CM, he should own it and resign", he said in a statement.

00:09when permission was sought by RCB, KSEA, as well as DNA,
00:15permission was rejected by the police department.
00:19It was rejected.
00:21But since Chief Minister insisted for giving permission,
00:25only then permission was given.
00:26So ultimately, it's a failure on the part of the intelligence department.
00:33They could not assess the people.
00:35The lakhs and lakhs of people would gather.
00:37They could not assess the situation.
00:39And because of the insistence of the Chief Minister,
00:42permission was given for such a victory parade.
00:46So responsibility lies on Chief Minister.
