00:00Okay then Robin, why were you so keen to set the Puppy Dog Palace up then?
00:04So it started during lockdown as a hobby. I was looking after friends and family's dogs who were working for the NHS, who were front line.
00:14And then people started messaging us wanting to book in and I got my licence for home boarding and it became a career for me.
00:24And just what sort of experience do the dogs get when they come here?
00:27So they'll have a fun experience. I've got plenty for them to do. I've got a big open plan play area, a nice chill out corner and they'll have lots of fun.
00:41We're the only place where your dog will have a better holiday than you did.
00:45So we'll have a little tour of them?
00:46Yes, let's go.
00:48This would be the reception area where you would check in. We'll bring you over and fill in all the consent forms.
00:55Take a full copy of vaccine records.
00:59And then we would bring the dogs up the stairs to our main area.
01:07So what have you got if you come in then?
01:09So to the right we'll have storage. Each dog will have their own storage area.
01:16And to the left we'll have our lovely carriage. This is for people coming from making greets, then sitting to have a cup of chino or a cup of tea with the dogs and fill in our forms.
01:29We'll have a big clear area. This is going to be used for enrichment. We've got a huge ball pit. We'll be doing games, play and fetch and agility training in this area.
01:45OK. What's the room at the back?
01:47So at the back we have a chill out zone. It is for the dogs that have anxiety where the big area might be a bit too overwhelming for them.
02:02In this room we'll also be doing arts and crafts like car paintings, little things that they can take home for their owners.
02:13And we'll be playing games such as find a treat, tricks for treats and mental stimulation games.
02:22You've also got the projector up there so the dogs can watch a movie?
02:25Oh yes. So on the night time we can chill out totally, watch projector film onto the wall and watch the movies.
02:33And they're going to be cared for 24-7. Is there someone here all the time?
02:36Yeah. So the shift, one shift starts on the morning, ends on the night. Then the next lot of staff will come in from the night time till the morning.
02:46Everyone go and check one of the rooms out now. I believe your dog's out at the moment.
02:49Yeah, we've got Princess. So these are our dog bedrooms. Each dog will have their own notepad with all the information of what the dog has been up to that day.
03:00And who have we got on here then?
03:02My dog Princess. In these rooms they come with a full-size bed, nice fluffy blankets and robes and iPads.
03:13The dogs can watch movies and some dogs like to listen to relaxing music.
