I enjoyed a sneak peek around the new Home Bargains store which is opening tomorrow on Leechmere Road.

00:00I'm here at the New Home Bargains Superstore, which is off Lechmere Road in Sunderland,

00:05which is due to open its doors to customers at 8am tomorrow. The first thing which strikes

00:09you when you arrive is the sheer scale of this place, which is much bigger than home

00:12bargain stores I've been to before. There's a garden centre, cafe and bakery, so let's

00:18go inside and have a look around.

00:21One of the main features of the New Home Bargains is the garden centre. As you can see we've

00:25got a range of garden furniture which you can buy. We've also got compost and manure

00:30which you can use if you want to get your fingers green this spring season, new trees

00:36to be planted. If you want to attract the birds into your garden we've got bird tables

00:41here, lots of pots down there which you can use to plant your new plants and shrubs. We've

00:48got a nice section here where we've got all the little animals which have been created

00:52here which could be nice ornaments in your garden. As you can see we've also got an extensive

00:57range of plants and shrubs all ready for the spring season when you get out in the garden

01:03and get ready for the sun starting to shine, hopefully.

01:09When you come in from the garden centre you'll see again we've got more garden furniture

01:13which you can come and buy here. A nice range of garden ornaments again which you can get

01:19in your garden. As I'm walking along here I can actually hear some water running because

01:24I think they also stock a nice water feature here. We've got more of our garden furniture,

01:29it's a good place to come, it's not just food you can get here. Some nice water features.

01:37As you make our way further along here again lots of flowers, lots of decoration for your

01:41garden. As you can see it's far more than just a place you come to get food and bathroom

01:48products. Here you've got your kitchen section, so you'll see we've got a range of toasters,

01:56pie makers, air fryers, kettles, lots and lots of different utensils here which you

02:02need to get. Got electric whisks there, jars for storing things in. Got our dining sets

02:12here. You can get some non-stick pans again, great place to come. All that set up here.

02:18Got what looks like a dual air fryer here. As it says they're all star buys with lots of reductions

02:28to be had. Moving to this section here you'll see one for the kids, lots of toys here which

02:35we can get as well. It's a long way off now once we get to Christmas time I'm sure this

02:39be a good place to come and get your bargains for sons, daughters, nephews, nieces. As you

02:45move along here again got a party aisle here with lots of stuff if you've got children about

02:51to celebrate parties. There's a card section down there as well. Mother's Day coming up we've got

02:59flower arrangements here which may come in handy. Frames for any pictures or paintings which you may

03:06want to display in your house. A mirror section here. As you can see here again all that star

03:16bargain prices which you may not get in other stores. Coming along here we've got another

03:22little children's section here where we've got bags and children's furniture. So it's not just

03:29a place for adults there's lots of other kids to see here as well. If you come along you might

03:33have your credit card ready because no doubt they'll be wanting to buy things. This section

03:40we've got our hardware area. So we've got some trolley bags there for your shopping. An era.

03:49Lots of clothes horses there. So yeah just to make your everyday tasks at home that bit easier again

03:56this looks like the place to come. It's not just a shop for people as you can see we've got the pet

04:00section. Lots of animal food, cat food, bird food if you want to get the birds into your garden.

04:08Doggy baskets and cat baskets here. Everything you need for your furry friends at home as well.

04:16Lots of pet toys here. As we make our way down this silo again we've got lots and lots of food

04:23which you can buy here. Fresh food. There's a bakery here which cooks stuff fresh each day.

04:28We've also got a big frozen food section which we don't get in all home bargains. You do have

04:35the usual things, your sweets, your biscuits, your crackers. If you want to grab a sandwich for lunch

04:40plenty of stuff here as well. You'll see we've got big frozen food section which in home bargains

04:48I've been to before isn't always necessarily the case. You can get your fresh fruit here as well

04:53and your fresh veg. So in many ways it's very much a supermarket experience now with additional

05:00add-ons like the garden centre. But there seems to be a lot more here and the sheer thing which

05:05strikes you is the scale of this place. It's certainly much bigger than any home bargains

05:09I've been to before. And after you finish with your ETL therapy what you can do, another new

05:16addition we've got here, is the cafe. Where you can come and get a nice cup of tea and a snack to

05:24eat as well after a bit of retail therapy. So just how much looking forward to opening tomorrow at

05:308 a.m. and just what sort of bargains can people bag? Oh we cannot wait to open and welcome our

05:35customers and our neighbours into this home bargains store. It's so exciting it's been a lot of hard

05:41work over the last five, six days to get it to the standard that we've got and bargains galore.

05:48You know it's too many to name any specific but you know what I know there'll be customers

05:53coming out of here with trolley and basket fulls tomorrow.
