00:00My name is Michael Noor and we're at Noor Indian restaurant in North End London Road
00:06North End London Road Portsmouth. I'd just like to welcome everyone to our newly refurbished
00:12restaurant. Ironically I saw this open first time in 1978. I was a little boy coming and saw Mr.
00:22Rahman open the establishment as the Gulshan Indian restaurant. What makes it different? I think
00:29it's the experience you bring to the customers, the welcoming, the presentation,
00:37the menu. Our menu is very versatile in terms of we do a lot of fish, salmon, sea bass, prawns,
00:46we've got ostrich on the menu, we've got lamb, we've got different structure to the curry and
00:53different tastes. All the experience I gained and put it to make this menu a bit more different
01:01than the others. But you know hopefully it will bring more customers, you know your customers to
01:12come and try the different uh cuisine or the types of curry we have just to give you a taste of the
01:21difference experience that I gained during my travel through the curry industry.
01:27And is there a couple of menu items in mind that you uh that springs to mind in regards of uh what
01:34you expect uh what a normal speciality is or what's uh we we've been quite lucky um the local
01:41uh the British our curry country is korma and masala itself both but we have
01:51um with our menu the korma masala are not on the top ranking at the you know at the moment where other
01:58restaurants are um railway lamb is one we do the bengal curry we do home star cooking
02:06the jungle curry the lamb shank um the ostrich bazaar that is is the ostrich yes people say what
02:14part of India but um the one was flying and I think I caught it but it is on the menu um a real
02:21ostrich sir yes um so this is our thing but you can be cooked to any specification you like but we have
02:28our own recipe that we use on all the curries I mentioned very excited um every time I see a
02:35customer I always what school did you go to where did you go what clubbing did you do what restaurant
02:41did you go to because I've been missing that 25 years or 23 years of that gap I've had this is more
02:49exciting to me than um the menu and stuff coming back into the community mingling with them as the
02:58refurbishment took seven months we had a lot of followers to see what's going on because gulshan was
03:07a landmark in these days and people were eager to see what was happening and what was doing and when
03:15they come in they are very pleased with the menu the the decor the service and we've since we've been
03:22opened about six weeks now I think our sixth week and we've had many many many return customers and
03:29it's gone so well I've been inspected we go well as everyone's on a name term rather than sir and
03:36madam everyone knows our name and we know their names we're having a little talk here and there and
03:41little banters jokingly uh talking about all sorts of stuff so yes I'm very happy and hopefully they'll
03:48more venture into our menu um because it's a bit different than others a little bit different
03:57than others um hopefully they'll get used to it and um you know carry on with us
