00:00Hi, I'm Tom. I'm the owner and artist behind the studio at 13 Eats.
00:04So tell me how it feels to finally have achieved opening your dream studio.
00:11It feels a little surreal at the moment. It hasn't really sunk in.
00:14I think as of tomorrow when we do the grand opening, it will kind of all settle down
00:19and I'll be able to take in what's actually kind of working and what's happening.
00:24So tell me what you'll be selling at the studio.
00:27So we'll be an independent art store. We'll be selling spray paints, liner printing.
00:34Eventually we'll have screen printing equipment and some other art materials.
00:39We're also a workspace so people can come in and rent a space for the day or for an hour or for a couple of hours
00:45and just be in a little bit more of an environment where they can produce creativity
00:50and let that kind of breathe throughout everyone.
00:53And then also we've got my art studio as well. So it's a mixture of everything that's going on
00:57and we'll be running workshops on top of all of that.
01:01What are your hopes for the studio in the future?
01:04The main hope is to bring some art into Gosport.
01:08There's some fantastic artists around in Gosport and I've been part of some networking events
01:14and everything else and it's just trying to get that onto the map.
01:17We've been very lucky to have some funding from the government and everything else in Gosport
01:21but for me I just want to leave my little mark on Gosport and add some colour to the place.
01:28So tell me what your favourite thing is about the studio.
01:32My favourite thing is probably the little coffee nook that we've got.
01:37So on top of everything else we're selling secondhand art books
01:41which what I really want to do is just make art as accessible for everyone else
01:45without trying to break the bank.
01:47So we've got books that here that people can come in and buy.
01:50If not they can kind of come in and just have a sit down, read through some books.
01:53We've also got the rent-a-space so if someone wants to spend the day here
01:57we've got a little area that people can just relax and chill out.
