00:00Good morning po, Yusek. Tariff updates lang po. The U.S. set the deadline for its trading partners to provide their best offer on trade negotiations yesterday, June 4.
00:12According to our Reuters story, the U.S. is asking countries to list their best proposals in a number of key areas, including tariff and quota offers for the purchase of U.S. industrial and agricultural products and plans to remedy any non-tariff barriers.
00:25So, question po, Yusek. Has the Philippines received the letter? And if so, has the government submitted its response?
00:32Okay, okay. Actually, according to the Department of Trade and Industry and Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, they are in constant communication with the U.S. trade representative.
00:45But they cannot divulge or give any details about this because we are covered by the confidentiality agreement. So, hanggang doon lang po ang ating masasabi.
00:54Okay, so follow-up question na lang siguro, Yusek. What is the current status na po of the negotiations, especially with the U.S. self-imposed deadline set to expire in five weeks?
01:05Yeah. Meron po ang deadline, pero again, hindi ko po masasabi yung ibang detali because of the confidentiality agreement.
01:12Opo, pero tuloy-tuloy po yung pakikipag-unain po nila sa U.S. representative.
01:16And so, for satisfied naman po tayo sa talks na nangyayari?
