Tasmania's parliament is resuming debate on a no confidence motion in premier, Jeremy Rockliff. Parliament adjourned at 7:30 last night after 19 speeches about the motion, but 15 MPs are yet to speak. It has the backing of the greens, and three other crossbenchers meaning it's likely to pass. Jeremy Rockliff says if it passes as expected he'll make the trip to government house and ask for the parliament to be dissolved. This would be the fourth state election in seven years.

00:00Today is a big day. Today, if Mr Winter's divisive and destructive motion is passed,
00:12I will be going to the Lieutenant Governor and seeking an election.
00:20This will be advice that I will provide to the Governor,
00:27that an election is needed unless Mr Winter forms Government with the Greens.
00:37This will be an election that Tasmanians don't want and Tasmania cannot afford.
00:48Be that on Mr Winter's head.
00:52This has been a selfish grab for power, of which Tasmanians will look upon very poorly indeed.
01:06I have a lot more fight in me.
01:10We have built a better Tasmania.
01:14We have invested in health.
01:18We have invested to keep children safe.
01:22We have invested in our schools, in community safety and we have created an economy that is leading the nation with record low unemployment.
01:36I cannot let Mr Winter's selfish grab for power destroy what we have built over the course of the last decade.
01:52The only job Mr Winter is interested in is mine and I am not going anywhere.
02:02I am not going anywhere, anyway.
