Max McNown caught up with Billboard's Jessica Nicholson at Country Power Players 2025.

00:00Well, thank you so much for being here and being part of the Country Power Players event.

00:04This has been such a great year for you.

00:06Like, you've got the deluxe version of your album.

00:08When it comes to adding songs to projects like that,

00:11how do you go about deciding which songs will be the best for that?

00:14That's a good question.

00:15So, Night Diving was actually initially just incomplete.

00:18I've always viewed it as a larger album, as a double album.

00:22And so, we put out Night Diving while we were kind of working on finishing the rest to give the fans something.

00:27But I've always seen Night Diving, the cost of growing up, as a full body of work.

00:31Yeah, I love that.

00:32Well, so we're also launching into CMA Fest this week.

00:35What are you most looking forward to?

00:36You know, it's short and sweet, but I'm really excited for two songs in the Nissan Stadium.

00:41That's going to be incredible.

00:42I'm looking at it right out here right now, and I'm like, that looks big.

00:46So, what is your game plan to not be nervous out there?

00:50Box breathing.

00:51Yeah, in for four, hold for four, out for four.

00:53That's all I do every time.

00:54Well, you're going to be so busy.

00:55Are you going to have any chance to see other people out and about?

00:58Is there anyone in particular you want to see while you're here?

01:00I mean, I just met Billy Zimmerman.

01:03So, I'm really excited to see who else I say hi to.

01:05Absolutely.

01:06Well, if you could, because there are so many collaborations in country music at the moment.

01:14That's a really good question.
