Stacy Vee caught up with Billboard's Jessica Nicholson at Country Power Players 2025.
Transcript
00:00Congratulations on being named Executive of the Year at the Billboard Country Power Player Awards.
00:05I was there at Stagecoach this year, and just the amount of genres and music that you guys had from,
00:12you had Jelly Roll, you had Lana Del Rey, you had Backstreet Boys.
00:16What is it like putting that type of a wide-ranging of curation together?
00:21I mean, I think every year is a new adventure.
00:23It's quite literally country A to Z, and like non-country, one to a hundred.
00:32We like to celebrate all the genres of country music, people who have been there with us from the beginning,
00:40as well as usher in all the exciting new voices, and have as much fun as possible.
00:46That's always the goal out at Stagecoach.
00:48I was also there a couple of years ago when Zach Ryan was on the Palomino stage.
00:52Obviously, this year, he was on the main stage.
00:55Can you talk about taking an artist that you see that early on, that you believe in,
01:00and helping them rise to the ranks like that?
01:01What is that like?
01:02I mean, I'm glad you asked that question, because it's literally my favorite thing about Stagecoach.
01:09You have someone like Zach Ryan, who is an absolute rocket ship.
01:14You know, we knew it from the second we booked him.
01:16We were so early on.
01:18By the time Stagecoach played off, and he was in Palomino, like, he was a bona fide superstar.
01:24And then, fast forward to now, having him headline the main stage.
01:28But the best part is, from Palomino stage to main stage, we've had the pleasure to work with him on his journey,
01:36getting to work with him outside of the festival space, on his touring, and all these amazing moments.
01:42But that's the biggest joy about Stagecoach, is watching these artists grow with us.
01:49But also, shine a little light on your team.
01:52I mean, putting together something like this is not something that one person can do alone.
01:56Shine a little light on your team that helps you put all of this together.
01:58I mean, that's my favorite thing to do.
02:00I mean, I get to stand here, and I get to be here and accept this award.
02:05But I'm representing such a hard-working, dedicated team, and so many people have been with the company for so long.
02:14And, you know, special props to my ride-or-die, Sabrina Sarmiento over there.
02:20She's my partner in crime.
02:22And, you know, her and so many people on the team, everybody just flexes their muscles, uses their expertise,
02:31and cares so much, and is so dedicated.
02:35And, you know, it's obviously just a culmination of all of us.
02:40Well, and one last question, too.
02:42As Stagecoach continues to evolve, what do you think it will look like next year or five years from now?
02:47I mean, the best thing about Stagecoach is it's organically grown and ebbed and flowed.
02:58I think if I tried to guess what it would be like in five years, I might miss out on some really fun stuff along the way.
03:05So I just take it year by year and see what's available and see what's happening and make a few predictions
03:13and just take it gradually and slowly year by year because I just, I don't want to miss out on anything
03:20because I set my sights too specifically on something.
03:24I like slow, organic growth.
03:27I love it.
03:28Well, thank you so much.
03:29Congratulations.
03:30Very deserving of this.
