00:00Kansas City Royals and the St. Louis Cardinals. I said to myself, you know what? I don't love a
00:04lot of things about this game. You take a look at Michael Lorenzen, who's not a good pitcher.
00:08That's probably a guy you want to fade. How about this? Two and three thirds innings pitched for
00:11Lorenzen yesterday. Seven hits given up, seven runs, all of them earned, which included two
00:16home runs. His ERA started the season nice. It now sits at a 5.12. Palante, who's one of the
00:23pitchers that I really like to start the season, who has good numbers. You know what he did
00:26yesterday. Four and a third innings pitched, seven hits, seven earned runs, and two home runs also.
00:33His number now elevates to 4.91. So two pitchers with decent statistics on the season now got hit
00:39around. Why, as we said, wind was blowing out to left field yesterday with 80 degree temperatures
00:44and two questionable pitchers on the mound. And understand this, we got 17 total runs in this game.
00:49Look at the Cardinals who lost that game yesterday. Three for 12 with runners in scoring position,
00:54and they left 10 men on base and still scored seven times. We could have been looking at 25
01:00runs yesterday. You take a look at the Kansas City Royals. They actually cashed in and taking
01:04advantage of guys on base. Five of nine with runners in scoring position and left on base,
01:09only five. But understand this, this team usually goes as far as that middle of the lineup is going
01:14to take you. If you were just going yesterday, guys, paint by numbers. I want to look at RBI props.
01:19Who do you look at that we talk about every single day on this network? Bobby Witt Jr.
01:24How about yesterday? Two of four, four RBI, which included a home run. How about Mikel Garcia?
01:28Only had one hit, but that one hit was good enough for two RBI. Vinny Pasquantino in the middle of
01:33that lineup. Two base knocks out of five at-bats and two RBI. And then there's Sal Perez there in
01:39the middle of that order. Only one hit, but also got an RBI. So you had four, six, eight,
01:43nine RBI from your middle four batters. But that's not the batter that we were really talking about
01:48yesterday. As you saw with a lot of excitement, Jack Caglione coming up to Major League Baseball,
01:53a fast riser who last year was with the Florida Gators at this time. This year now, that rapid
01:59rise through AA and AAA and finds himself in Major League Baseball, a big hub to do. But yesterday,
02:060 for 5 at the plate. But the one thing that I do like the fact that is, he didn't strike out.
02:10So he was making contact. And what do you look for? For like, you know what? Can he surprise?
02:14Can he hit a home run? Can he get an extra base hit? Can he get an RBI? He was actually robbed
02:19of a base hit with an unbelievable play by the center fielder yesterday in Scott. Scott,
02:25who went 0 for 4 at the plate, but made a great play. I believe he traveled 80 to 90 feet.
02:29There's the little picture of it right there. And made that catch against Jack Caggs,
02:33because that would have been his first hit and also his first extra base hit. The hits will come in
02:37that market for Jack Caggs. Make no mistake about it. And maybe this is the shot in the arm that
02:42Kansas City needed. Because you bring Jack Cagglione up, he actually doesn't factor into
02:46the game. But everybody else stepped their game up, as we talked about. Bobby Witt Jr.,
02:51Mikel Garcia, Vinny Pasquantino, Salvador Perez. That's how it's supposed to work. Adding extra
02:56bats to relieve yourself of saying, you know what? We'll be fine. And also, Jonathan Indio,
03:01I thought was a great move in the offseason getting him and bringing him in as your leadoff guy.
03:05Do you see what he did yesterday to set the table for all those RBI shots? 3 of 5 at the plate
03:10yesterday. So you had India raking. You had Bobby Witt Jr. raking. Mikel Garcia. Vinny Pasquantino,
03:15Sal Perez, and Jack Caggs. He'll get that first base hit sooner than later and that first home run
03:20sooner than later. But the questions are, as always, well, where does he fit into the season
03:23now? Because that's a prospect that we don't expect, unless he's really bad, to be sent back
03:28down to minor league baseball. So you get the full month of June, July, August, and September to say,
03:33is there a possibility that he can win rookie of the year? As we take a look at the odds market there
03:38for rookie of the year? Pack up Jacob Wilson. Favorite here. Minus 380 with the athletics.
03:43He's been very good so far. But Jack Caglione, a plus 850 price right behind him. Jason Dominguez,
03:49a 17 to 1 price. Will Warren, so back-to-back Yankees there at 35 to 1. And Cam Smith of the
03:55Astros at 35 to 1. If you're asking me right now, like, who would you actually take? It's probably
04:01Jack Caggs, man. Like, he's in a lineup with a baseball team that's over 500 that could maybe win a
04:07division. Maybe it is Jack Caggs this year.
