The family of the Egyptian national charged with tossing gasoline bombs at a pro-Israeli rally in Colorado was taken into federal custody on June 3 and could be quickly deported, officials said.

00:00U.S. authorities have taken the family of an Egyptian national, charged with tossing gasoline bombs at a pro-Israeli rally in Boulder, Colorado, into custody.

00:34Federal officials have said the suspect, identified as Mohammed Sabri Soleiman, was in the U.S. illegally, having overstayed a tourist visa and an expired work permit.
00:46They said the 45-year-old suspect told investigators that he wanted to kill all Zionist people, but delayed doing so until his daughter had graduated from high school.
00:56Authorities are charging him with attempted murder, assault, and hate crime.
01:02A police affidavit filed in support of his arrest warrant said he was born in Egypt, lived in Kuwait for 17 years, and moved three years ago to Colorado Springs, where he lived with his wife and five children.
01:14Members of the Jewish community in Boulder said they are saddened by the attack.
01:22They said the Run for Their Lives rally every single Sunday had one goal since its beginning, which is to bring home the Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas in Gaza, following the attack at the Gaza-Israel border in 2023.
