00:00Este é um programa tecnológico set no mundo do The Witcher 4.
00:48Let's be weeds, Kelpie!
00:51Então, como Geralt e a Roach, a Siri tem seu próprio companheiro.
00:55We return to town.
01:00These two characters need to feel like one.
01:02Since you're gonna explore the world on horseback,
01:05riding these two feel seamless, natural, and just fun.
01:09Yeah, and to support that,
01:10we're introducing multi-character motion matching in Unreal.
01:14So, Siri and Kelpie, they're perfectly synchronized
01:16when mounting from any angle and speed.
01:18And we also support root motion movement on Kelpie.
01:23So, controlling her feels realistic and grounded.
01:28And there are also some really nice improvements
01:30to our Unreal Chaos Flesh Solver
01:32and these machine-learn deformations.
01:35So, you've got realistic muscles moving and stretching
01:37under Kelpie's skin without compromising the performance there.
01:40So, let's leave Siri behind for a second
01:50and talk about the world itself.
01:53So much of the Witcher world is natural, organic,
01:57especially Kovir with its dense forest and wild nature.
02:00Yeah, and wild nature is hard.
02:04And with Nanite Geometry,
02:05we've freed artists from so many of their old constraints.
02:08But we don't want to rest until everything we do in Unreal
02:10has that same spirit of freedom.
02:12There's always more work to do.
02:14And foliage is a huge piece of that puzzle.
02:17So, we are excited to introduce Nanite Foliage.
02:22And in order to achieve gorgeous foliage density everywhere,
02:27while still being memory-efficient, fast to render,
02:29we believe that a new idea was needed.
02:32So, instead of the same card approach
02:34we've been using for the past 20 years,
02:36artists should be free to take a Nanite approach to foliage,
02:40modeling every single leaf and pine needle.
02:43And the old LOD tricks of the past,
02:46they needed a complete rethink.
02:48And in their place,
02:49it's a new adaptive voxel representation in Nanite.
02:53It's volumetric, it's fully 3D,
02:55it is super fast to render.
02:57And these dense clusters of triangles
02:59turn into these cubes,
03:00which, at a distance,
03:01they're no larger than a pixel,
03:03and they react to the changing light
03:04of our dynamic sun and our shadows,
03:07and they allow artists to render
03:08whatever amount of foliage is needed
03:10to achieve their vision without compromise.
03:14And no compromise means
03:15how ambitious we are
03:17when it comes to bringing our vision to life
03:19with incredible visuals.
03:21But more than that,
03:22together with Epic,
03:23we created faster whale throughout the world.
03:26We can now bring in more content,
03:28more quickly for the smoothest possible experience
03:31as we fly down
03:32to catch up with Siri.
03:34Welcome to Valgrist.
03:49So Valgrist is a port town,
03:51a hub for fishing,
03:53trade,
03:53and mining.
03:54It's one of those places
03:55where you can meet shady characters
03:57or overhear gossip from other lands.
03:59It's also where Tui took on her current contract.
04:05Hi-tech, let's leave Kelpie here
04:07and explore the marketplace and food.
04:11I'm so excited
04:13we can finally show you some of this stuff.
04:15Let's see what Valgrist has to offer.
04:17Ah, my father.
04:19Not her again.
04:29With a wish
04:30for the furry rascal
04:31will often wait
04:32and a bear's wait
04:34grabs good fortune.
04:35Some new witcher here, eh?
04:36For these feet
04:37damn it's a damn
04:38and damn it's a damn
04:38you're gonna rock.
04:44Guys, notice how responsive the world is.
04:49Character actions directly affect
04:51what happens around you.
04:52Sometimes even setting off chain reactions.
04:55Everything is working together.
04:56Oh, look at this poor gentleman
05:06being taught how to fly
05:08by an angry innkeeper.
05:10That's what happens
05:11when you cheat at Gwen.
05:26Okay, so this is the guy
05:28who gave the street
05:29his quest his own.
05:31Like you probably suspect
05:32he has his own agenda
05:33in all of this.
05:34Get your tits again, Wilfred.
05:37Get your ass up.
05:44A typical day's toil.
05:46Who in?
05:47Ah, which your ass?
05:50What news of my wagons?
05:52No eternity is taking
05:53that damn salt to arrive.
05:55I found them
05:56and, well,
05:58suffice to say
05:59they'll not reach you.
06:02As for the salt,
06:05I found not one speck.
06:07I presume this comes
06:08as no surprise to you.
06:12No, no.
06:14Kvir's smuggling trade
06:15is of no concern to me.
06:17Shush, shush, shush.
06:17The manticore
06:18that flattened your cars
06:20and devoured your men?
06:23Quite the opposite.
06:26Manticore?
06:28No, no.
06:29Them winged hellspawn
06:30dwell in the arse end of Krayton.
06:32Not here.
06:33While Ciri decides
06:34what to do about that merchant,
06:36let's take a look
06:36at the character technology
06:38that powers this marketplace.
06:40Why don't we listen in
06:41on these fishmongers?
06:42They're selling their wares,
06:43chatting up customers.
06:44And there is
07:00tons of peck
07:00to play here.
07:01Even in this simple market stall.
07:03MetaHuman tools,
07:04improved Unreal smart objects,
07:06Chaos cloth,
07:07and more.
07:08Yeah, and all of this exists
07:10to make sure that
07:11the gap in quality
07:12between Ciri and NPC
07:14is as small as possible.
07:16Yeah, and closing that gap,
07:18it's not just about fidelity, right?
07:20But also authenticity.
07:21They should react
07:23to changes in the world
07:24around them.
07:26But the prisoner in Pillar
07:27isn't exciting enough
07:28for Valgrist.
07:30Let's grab everyone's attention
07:32with the circus.
07:32But the great performance
07:43deserves a huge crowd of.
07:45Let's crank it up.
07:46So you are seeing tons
07:56of optimizations here
07:58to many of Unreal's systems,
08:00including an entirely new
08:02Unreal animation framework,
08:04allowing us to fit easily
08:06in our 60 FPS budget,
08:08not just in rendering,
08:08but also with room
08:10to spare on the game thread.
08:11Over 300 animated
08:14skeletal mesh agents
08:15all going about
08:16their business.
08:17And the whole point,
08:19it's to leave breathing room
08:20for developers like you
08:21to introduce the gameplay
08:23and the systems
08:24that your players expect,
08:26empowering you
08:26to make your worlds
08:27come to life
08:28without Unreal
08:29standing in your way.
08:31You are right.
08:32That's the open world RPG
08:34that we're making.
08:35But before we wrap up,
08:36how about one final
08:38check-in with Siri?
08:44We are making this game
08:46to be the most immersive
08:47and ambitious
08:48open world Witcher game ever.
08:51And we are making this
08:52a reality thanks to
08:53our work on Unreal
08:54with the team at Epic.
08:57I think what we are doing
08:58together is going to bring
09:00in a new generation
09:01of open world RPGs
09:02and I'm so proud
09:04of what we accomplished
09:05so far.
09:06We are too.
09:10So we're almost done
09:11but before we go,
09:12here's a small gift
09:13for all Witcher fans.
09:17A first look
09:18at Lan Exeter.
09:31Onward, Kelby.
09:34With what?
09:36Look out.
09:58Come on.
