Marcos mulls first Supreme Court appointee

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is deliberating on his first appointee to the Supreme Court, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said on June 3, 2025, after the Judicial and Bar Council released its shortlist of nominees. Marcos' first appointee to the high court will replace Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario Lopez, who is set to retire on June 7.
