Belle Mariano isn't one to back down from new heights. She might've already ticked skydiving off her bucket list, but as she'd tell us once she got back from posing 10-meters above ground for the perfect shot, she realized there's still so much she hasn't experienced—diving from an olympic platform included.   This bravery and willingness to push her own limits have characterized the Gen Z leading lady's path to stardom, and it was something that Preview wanted to showcase in our April 2025 cover. #previewvideos #previewcovers

00:00It was three years ago when we first shot Belle Mariano's first ever preview cover and since

00:11then her star has been steadily rising. She is now a sought-after leading lady and a formidable

00:17force in her own right. So for her April cover, we wanted to showcase that bright energy of Belle,

00:24someone who's not just polished and poised but also brave and committed and willing to push her

00:31own limits. And true to form, it was a hot and humid day when we shot the cover of Belle but Belle was

00:39such a trooper, such a delight to work with and she was just so game. To achieve most of the shots,

00:45we had to ask a lot from her. We had to ask her to conquer her fear of heights if she has any.

00:51We asked her to swim, not simply pose with the pool as the backdrop but actually go into the water and

00:58she did everything for the shot. The entire team was blown away and we're just so happy to have her

01:03back on the cover. Our April cover is shot in an outdoor pool location with Belle just lounging

01:11around and being herself. We wanted to show her just letting loose. It's also about her personal

01:17growth where she dips her toes in different waters and as she takes on new heights in her career.

01:23The cover is shot by Carlo Cadang. We wanted it to be very dreamlike and he perfectly captured the

01:30softness of the photos. It's really easy on the eyes and each photo tells a different narrative. The

01:35video is a play on sound and beats. We just wanted to capture the feeling of summer and youth and I think

01:43Belle really played a huge part in the video. Like she was dancing as in she really embodied

01:49what she wanted to do in the video. She was a real good sport. We also wanted to capture how vast and huge

01:58the place was because it's an Olympic pool and I think the hardest part to do during the shoot and I think Belle was able to achieve

02:06was going up the diving platform. It was really high and we even had to hold hands going up.

02:15Yeah but Belle was really game to do anything and we love her for that.

02:23For this shoot we worked with PhilSports Complex so that we can use their facility in shooting the cover.

02:30It's actually our second time to work with them and what's great was they had actually different pools

02:36and facilities within the vicinity that we could use. So we had a diving platform and then we had a

02:42smaller pool and of course the Olympic size pool. So they were also game to provide us a lifeguard to

02:48make sure that everyone was safe especially since we had like floating scenes and of course the one from

02:54the diving platform which was actually very very high. And through it all she was able to push through

03:00even if it was really scorching hot and pull through with the five layouts and of course the videos.

03:06So we're really glad to have shot our summer cover with Belle and just enjoyed her free spirit

03:13and her casual energy all throughout. For Glam we tapped Belle's go-to makeup artist Jake Galvez and

03:19hairstylist Ardre de la Cruz and we had Nailandia paint on summer used on Belle's fingers.

03:26So for the fashion direction of Belle Mariana's preview cover we wanted to reinvent the way we view

03:33summer dressing so as opposed to skin bearing cuts and silhouettes we wanted to put a focus on vibrant

03:39pastel hues and we really wanted to have a more cohesive color palette and at the same time through the

03:45silhouettes we wanted to convey a sense of easiness with the outfits. The outfits that she wore were

03:52very straightforward but still very vibrant. So for instance in the cover layout you'll see her wearing

03:58a sculptural striped dress by Narek Beltran which we paired with Katsua slippers which is a Cebu-based

04:05brand we had shipped all the way from Cebu. And in another layout she's wearing this very flowy dress with

04:12a feathered balloon-like skirt by Patti Ang which is actually a look from her BYS Fashion Week runway.

04:19And it was really nicely paired with this custom floral swim cap by Narek Beltran as well. So we really

04:27wanted that somewhat vintage look and it was really nice how Belle pulled it all off. And for the other

04:34looks the goal was really to a color story that was complementing with each other. So for instance in

04:40the shot where she's sitting by the diving platform we had her wear an orange swimsuit by Sulukal also a Cebu-based

04:48brand to perfectly complement the turquoise colors of the sky. And then in another shot because in one of

04:55the layouts we had Belle dipped in the pool and we thought that it would be perfect with a yellow dress

05:00so we had this custom dress by Ilan Ware. For the cover story I wanted to tie the concept of the shoot with

05:09Belle's life and career so far. So I was really fixated with this image of Belle climbing this really

05:15high diving platform during the shoot. Served as a visual symbolism of sorts of her climb in her

05:22career ever since she was a child actress and now that she's a leading lady. She's now someone who people

05:28are looking up to who's shining bright in her own way but just like in real life during her climb. It's also

05:35paved with fears and challenges. Belle also highlighted how she wasn't alone during her climb. She has her

05:42support system, her family, her friends, the support of her love team partner Donnie and of course her

05:48friends who grew alongside with her. Her relationship with her friends is a two-way street because she's

05:55proud of them just as much as they are proud of her. But of course even if she's that high up in her

06:00career at this point this also delves into how really she hasn't done yet. Still has so much left to

06:06uncover in her career. So much dreams left to fulfill and really that's what makes things exciting.
