00:00You guys requested this, let's see what happens. USB killer versus USB killer.
00:04One side in and the other, both 3.0 versions.
00:08Alright, here we go. 3, 2, 1.
00:14I don't know what I expected.
00:15Hey, what's up guys? EverythingApplePro here, and it's certainly been a long time since my last USB killer video.
00:21So, this is the best and most effective way to kill your device while having the most fun with the USB killer 3.0.
00:28And I've got a bunch of new products to go ahead and test this out on.
00:32It's been a while, so there's a lot that's happened in between.
00:35But let's go ahead and see, are the latest smartphones nowadays equipped to handle the USB killer?
00:40If you guys don't know much about this, it's an instant death for any tech device.
00:44I've plugged it into computers, to my MacBook, to many phones, and this thing really is destructive.
00:50So, let's go ahead and see if the Google Pixel 2, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the iPhone X clone, the iPhone 8, and even the new Nokia 3310, as per special request, can handle the USB killer 3.0.
01:03This is the stronger version. It's faster, more dangerous than ever.
01:06And let's have some fun with my EMP.
01:09See if this thing affects any of these new products or if they're protected against it.
01:13It looks a lot crazier than it actually is, but alright, let's get right to it.
01:17Alright, so first things first is safety. I have been electrocuted too many times by my own creation.
01:22Even the USB killer 3.0 creates a really strong static.
01:25So, these are anti-electricity gloves that'll give me some sort of protection, even though I've been shocked through them before.
01:32And let's start with the EMP.
01:34This thing's a lot of fun just to play around with, mess with these devices, because it really interferes.
01:39In case you guys don't know, electromagnetic pulse, which interferes with the signal of the devices, it's pretty dangerous.
01:44But usually all devices, I've been able to go scot-free from it, aside from some display issues.
01:50But here we go. Let's power this guy.
01:52Alright, so there might be some interference issues.
01:54Usually it creates a really strong static pulse that interferes with my mic.
01:59But let's start with the Google Pixel 2 and see if this thing can handle this.
02:04I'm so scared of getting electrocuted.
02:06But actually not terrible.
02:16So, it doesn't really affect the display as much as you think it would, but it becomes really slow and unresponsive.
02:22Okay, now working again. Let's try that again.
02:26Look at that. It starts affecting it towards the bottom there.
02:29Flicker.
02:30So, Pixel 2 XL really isn't affected much.
02:34They've got some really good shielding on this.
02:37Usually the iPhones do the worst.
02:38Let's try the Note 8.
02:42Oh, wow. Pretty bad flicker there.
02:46Oh, man.
02:49You can really see where it interferes.
02:51It creates this glow on the display.
02:53Kind of cool.
02:54Bang.
02:54But it is staying awake, staying alive.
03:00It makes your hands feel very weird.
03:02It's like tingly.
03:03Really weird.
03:06Alright, so Note 8 survived.
03:10Not responding.
03:11Oh, there it is.
03:12Okay, so it's alive.
03:14Let's try the iPhone 10 clone.
03:15Don't really have much hopes for this one.
03:22Oh.
03:22Really messes with it.
03:27But.
03:29Does stay alive and awake.
03:31I feel like this iPhone will be in particular affected by this.
03:35Oh, yeah.
03:36Look at that.
03:40Oh, man.
03:41That is bad.
03:44But it doesn't stay on it like it did on the iPhone.
03:46Oh.
03:48Shoot.
03:49It just reset it.
03:50It completely just died on me.
03:53Let's try and power it back on.
03:57Is that it?
03:58Are you serious?
03:59I just killed my iPhone.
04:00Oh, no.
04:01Okay.
04:01It does still work.
04:03But, man, does this thing affect it.
04:05The home button stopped working.
04:09It said you may need to service the home button.
04:12The display still works, but it really screwed with the home button.
04:16Wow.
04:21So, iPhone is pretty unaffected by it.
04:23It does tweak with the display, but nothing permanent like it was last year on the iPhone 7.
04:28All right.
04:28Next up, the Nokia.
04:29I don't expect this one to be affected at all, knowing the Nokia legendary durability.
04:34Oh, but it is.
04:45All right.
04:46So, surprisingly, all of these modern phones are resistant to the EMP.
04:50Last year's weren't as much.
04:52So, now let's go ahead and grab the USB killer 3.0.
04:56And a really nice packaging here.
05:00Destruction.
05:01That looks good.
05:02These are extremely dangerous.
05:04So, if you guys ever do get one of these, be careful.
05:06They will destroy your stuff.
05:08It's not even a joke.
05:09All right.
05:09USB killer 3.0 versus Nokia 3310 in 3, 2, 1.
05:15Actually, nothing.
05:17And it is in all the way.
05:19That's no surprise.
05:20Usually, these kind of phones don't output energy.
05:23So, there's no reason why that would even work.
05:25They just take in a charge.
05:27All right.
05:27So, next up, the iPhone 8.
05:29Usually, the iPhones are pretty resistant to this.
05:31But I heard that the iPhone 8 is affected by this.
05:33And using the new adapter that bypasses the security systems, let's go ahead and see if
05:38it will produce a charge.
05:42Okay.
05:43And let's see if we can get a spark going here.
05:46Oh, my gosh.
05:48Wow.
05:48That was powerful.
05:50Can we reproduce that?
05:51I did not expect one that big.
05:52Oh, my gosh.
05:53Oh, okay.
05:56Yes.
05:56I think we can definitely get a good spark going here.
05:59That is powerful.
06:01Okay.
06:02So, trying not to get electrocuted here in a three, two, and one.
06:09Oh.
06:11Definitely heard something happen.
06:13And I heard you're supposed to keep it in the phone for a few seconds.
06:16Oh, wow.
06:19It is just cracking.
06:21They really were not lying.
06:23This thing is one and a half times more powerful than the old one.
06:26That spark is ridiculous.
06:27Oh, the phone froze up.
06:32It is no longer responding to touch.
06:36The home button doesn't work, but that was from the EMP.
06:38So, if I pull this out, will it work?
06:40No.
06:41I literally just killed my iPhone 8.
06:43It was working just a second ago.
06:45Yeah.
06:45I think it fried it.
06:46All right.
06:46So, what just happened is that the lightning port got fried.
06:50And I believe this will not work if I go ahead and go to charge it.
06:54Yeah.
06:54So, it's just the lightning port that gets fried and the phone no longer charges.
06:59Still, I would call that a success.
07:01Next up, let's try the iPhone X replica here.
07:05I'm going to go ahead and unlock it.
07:06And I doubt this one will work.
07:08Here we go.
07:08In three, two, one.
07:09And nothing.
07:12Yeah.
07:13This one doesn't produce a charge that leaves the USB port.
07:18So, this one did survive even better than the original.
07:21Next up, the Galaxy Note 8.
07:23I've actually never had a Galaxy work with this.
07:25They're very, very resistant.
07:27So, I'm going to pop it in.
07:30And I just felt a little static come in.
07:33There is a little red LED I've never noticed before.
07:35It glows when it's charging.
07:37And let's see if we can get a spark.
07:39Oh, wow.
07:41All right.
07:41Yes, definitely.
07:42Definitely a spark there.
07:45This thing is so powerful.
07:47I was definitely not expecting it to be this strong.
07:49That's for sure.
07:50So, let's see if this will be the first Galaxy phone that is acceptable to the USB killer.
07:55Three, two, and one.
08:00Oh, man.
08:01It is trying.
08:02It is trying hard.
08:04Galaxy Note 8 is having none of it.
08:06It is sending so much electricity into that port.
08:10But I'm sure it has a fail safe.
08:12That is so good that Samsung has that.
08:14I mean, stuff like this could even happen on accident if you ever get overvoltage.
08:20It's not likely, but wow.
08:24Yeah, this thing really is trying.
08:26Does not work, though.
08:28Galaxy Note 8 is resistant here.
08:30So, the last one to try is the Google Pixel 2.
08:33The original Pixel actually did die by the hand of the USB killer.
08:38One.
08:39Oh, sh**.
08:41Holy crap.
08:42That actually worked.
08:44I felt the spark in my hands.
08:46So, I'm hoping that they put in some sort of protection in this one.
08:48We'll have to see.
08:49Let's try for a spark first.
08:51It is glowing red, so that's a good sign.
08:54That means we'll have some electricity.
08:56And let's try that.
08:57Oh, yeah.
08:58That's a lot.
09:01Yeah, there's a lot going through here.
09:03I'm more than positive that this does not have protection against this.
09:06So, here we go in three.
09:08Goodbye, Pixel.
09:09Three, two, one.
09:12Oh, hey.
09:15It did not work.
09:20That's crazy.
09:21The screen isn't responding, though.
09:24What is going on?
09:28Oh, shoot.
09:29The phone completely froze.
09:32It won't lock.
09:33And it just died on me.
09:35Something just happened.
09:37Weird.
09:38I've never seen that before.
09:39I was trying to restart it.
09:41Ah.
09:42So, this one was an instance, but it did kill it within a few seconds.
09:47And it will not power on.
09:49That's crazy.
09:50So, like the original Pixel, the Pixel 2 XL is not protected against the USB killer.
09:56So, be careful.
09:57Don't stick this into yours, as it will not survive.
10:00So, that's it.
10:01It's dead.
10:02It was crazy how it just froze up for a second.
10:04So, Google Pixel 2 is a definite loser here.
10:07All right, guys.
10:07There it is.
10:08The Google Pixel 2 XL has met its match against the USB killer 3.0.
10:13The only phone out of all of these to be affected by this besides the iPhone 8 with the port problem.
10:18Anyways, hope you enjoyed it.
10:19Just a little bit of tech torture for you.
10:21I'll be coming at you soon with those iPhone 10 videos.
