00:00Here was Carlisle's first thoughts after beating the Knicks Saturday night about facing the Thunder.

00:05Well, this is the sixth time that I've been to an NBA Finals.

00:09Three as a player, one as an assistant coach, second time as a head coach.

00:15This is no time to be popping champagne.

00:20And, you know, when you get to this point of the season, you know, it's two teams and it's one goal.

00:26And so, you know, it becomes an all or nothing thing.

00:32And we understand the magnitude of the opponent.

00:37Oklahoma City has been dominant all year long with capital letters in the word dominant.

00:44See, they can listen, they can beat the Knicks.

00:48No problem.

00:49But the Thunder would have annihilated the Knicks.

00:52So, I think they're going to beat the Pacers' ass.

00:57I just think that they have no idea.

00:59Like, they think that this Eastern Conference journey was hard.

01:04I thought the Eastern Conference for them was a joke.

01:07And I thought that, frankly, the Knicks were a joke.

01:11I mean, they beat them 4-2.

01:13It just could have easily been 4-1.

01:16Now they've got a problem on their hands.

01:19That's it.

01:19I mean, this team they're playing is one of the best teams ever.

01:23They really are.

01:24No one wants to admit it because they're so young.

01:27But they're one of the best teams that has ever played a regular season in the NBA, in the history of the league.

01:33That's how good they are.

01:34There's only been one team, one team, Portland.

01:38And there's only been one team younger ever that has done what they're doing.

01:42And they're destroying everyone.

01:44Now, they went 7 with Denver, but they destroyed them in Game 7.

01:55Thursday night will be Game 1.

01:59But if it were to go 7 games, it will be a two-and-a-half-week long journey to play those 7 games.

02:15Then another two days off.

02:17Wednesday, Friday.

02:19Monday, Thursday, Sunday.

02:21So, almost three full weeks to play 7 games.

02:25Let me tell you something.

02:26Here's what they're going to do, just so we're clear.

02:28They're going to shut down Halliburton.

02:31And they're going to give Siakam problems.

02:35They are going to give those two star players their worst nightmare.

02:39Like, the days of wine and roses and open threes and open looks and driving and shooting floaters and layups

02:47and open court pass dunks are over.

02:52Because this team they're playing plays the best defense maybe I've ever seen.

02:58Like, I don't think I can recall anyone's defense ever being as aggressive and as good as this defense is for the Thunder.
