Israel's Powerful High Energy Laser Weapons - IRON BEAM & LITE BEAM

IRON BEAM is a 100kW class High Energy Laser Weapon System (HELWS) that is expected to become the first operational system in its class. It quickly and effectively engages and neutralizes a wide array of threats from a range of hundreds of meters to several kilometers. Engaging at the speed of light, IRON BEAM has an unlimited magazine, with almost zero cost per interception, and causes minimal collateral damage. IRON BEAM can be integrated with a range of platforms and can become part of any multilayer defense system. RAFAEL is considered a global leader in the field, developing Directed Energy systems including HEL systems for over 30 years. The company works closely with Israel’s Defense Ministry and serves as the HEL National Center for Excellence and the National Lethality Lab.

LITE BEAM, part of RAFAEL’s family of laser-based defense systems, is a 10 kW-class High Energy Laser Weapon System (HELWS) countering a wide range of low-altitude aerial threats including small UAVs and swarms of drones – as well as ground-based threats – with unparalleled speed and precision.

Designed for light 4×4 vehicles as well as 6×6, 8×8, and tracked Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFVs), LITE BEAM operates in both open areas and urban environments, providing mobile and stationary protection for maneuvering ground forces as well as for military and strategic installations.

Upon threat detection, the system focuses intense heat on a coin-sized spot, neutralizing up to 10 targets simultaneously at ranges of up to few km with minimal collateral damage.

Significantly more cost-effective than kinetic interceptors, LITE BEAM’s cost per-interception is almost zero.
