00:00The first buy low candidate here is Juan Soto. Now, people might be throwing stuff and say,
00:05how can you tell me I'm going to trade Juan Soto, the draft capital in which I invested in Juan
00:09Soto? I have to believe in Juan Soto. But you say this is the buy low time. What kind of trade
00:15would get you Juan Soto? Well, look, you're still going to buy relatively at cost,
00:22but it's low compared to, or even just the fact that there is a window to buy Juan Soto. This is
00:27it. And I think that's the thing to understand. If you look at the baseball savant page for him,
00:33his expected Wilba is 426. That's in the 98th percentile. His expected batting average is 299
00:39than the 90th percentile. His expected slugging 582 than 96 percentile. Exit velocity 95th percentile.
00:45I could go on, but I'm going to stop because the segment is not long enough. Basically it's bright
00:51red, right? What's happened here? Some bad luck and a little bit of pressing. And that's going to
00:57change. He's got nine home runs and seven stolen bases on the year, right? He's hitting 231 on the
01:02season. His OBP is at 357. This is a player that's going to explode eventually because he's
01:10Juan Soto. He's 26 years old. He's one of the best hitters in baseball. And it's going to take
01:15somebody who's gone really bananas in the first part of the season. And I keep coming back to
01:20Pete Crow Armstrong as a perfect candidate of a guy that you've gotten all you could possibly want
01:24at a Pete Crow Armstrong. But who do I want over the last hundred or so games of the season?
01:29I want Juan Soto, who's been there, done it, been an MVP candidate or fun Pete Crow Armstrong playing
01:35over his head. And I think those are the kind of players you're looking at. Maybe say a Suzuki and
01:39a pitcher could get that done. Just trying to put out some names there that, again, it's going to be
01:46very difficult. Raphael Devers and a piece, perhaps you can make that sell job. But what you're looking
01:53for is trying to find a player that is a bit unsustainable and trade them for what you know
01:59to be true, which is Juan Soto is terrific. And Juan Soto's deeper metrics are screaming right now
02:06that he is going to go off the rest of the season. He is too good of a player to have been this
02:12disappointing. And I just think eventually he settles in there like everybody else does after
02:17the big contract siding. And he's going to be just fine. Health isn't an issue. Everything is bright red
02:22in the baseball savant page. You should be buying Juan Soto, but you can't go with some weak ass deal.
02:27You can't just, you know, here's Taylor Ward for Juan Soto. Like that ain't going to work.
02:32We'll talk more about him in a second, but that you got to really show up there with the goods,
02:36with somebody playing really well and, or, you know, a big time pitcher too. Maybe you have an
02:40excess of pitching. You're that one team that has it. You could probably pry him away if you have
02:45somebody of note, but now is the time to do it because I don't think the window is going to be open much
02:49longer.
