Dozens killed and scores injured in shooting near aid point in Gaza

At least 31 people were killed and 175 wounded on Sunday, according to local health authorities and multiple witnesses, near an aid point in the Gaza Strip.

00:00At least 31 people have been killed and another 175 wounded as they were on their way to receive food in Gaza, according to health officials and a Red Cross field hospital.
00:15Witnesses said Israeli forces fired on crowds around 1km from an aid distribution site run by the controversial Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
00:26The organization said in a statement that it had, quote, delivered aid without incident and has denied reports of deaths, mass injuries and chaos.
00:38Israel and the United States say the new system is aimed at preventing Hamas from sifting off assistance,
00:44but UN agencies and major aid groups have refused to work with the new system,
00:48saying it violates humanitarian principles because it allows Israel to control who receives aid
00:55and forces people to relocate the distribution sites, risking further mass displacement.
