Melbourne commuters will face more major travel disruptions this winter as the long-awaited metro tunnel begins its first trial runs. It's among several road and rail closures set to impact the city, with works on other major projects.

00:46From the end of August, buses will replace trains on the city's busiest lines, including Cranbourne, Pakenham, Tarelgon and Bairnsdale.
