00:00of them but the reward is as good as it gets italian clubs have 12 wins french clubs only one
00:07inter have won it three times psg never before
00:29smiles mixed with tension
00:37so the players walking past the biggest the most prestigious trophy in club football one held
00:57aloft by all of the great players at some time one that into once again and one that psg hopes
01:04can finally be theirs
01:10so the players are ready for the most iconic anthem in football on the biggest night of the season
01:34is
01:42For in my sight, in my sight, in my eyes of me, my God!
02:12Well, as the players shake hands, it's astonishing to note that the clubs are playing against each other for the very first time in a competitive game tonight, with the stakes as high as they could be.
02:23Well, PSG won the French Cup final last weekend and did so without either Gigi Donnarumma or Kavica Kavaric Scalia playing a single minute, but both start tonight, of course, replacing Safonov and Barkela.
02:35William Pasho and Ashraf Hakimi have now started every Champions League game this season.
02:40Scorer Ousmane Dembele has eight Champions League goals, Marquinhos the only remaining starter for PSG from the 2020 final in Lisbon.
02:49And a win tonight would be historic for this group of players and their coach, Luis Enrique.
02:55Romania's Ismail Kovac is the referee tonight. He gave 16 yellow cards in the same game in the Euros last summer. If you remember, let's hope he has a quieter night here in Munich.
03:17That's the Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and Marquinhos who's played more games than any other player in the history of Paris Saint-Germain is their skipper.
03:26Well, key players were rested against Como in Inter's final league game to get them ready for tonight.
03:35So the likes of Echervi, Bastoni, Ferrella and Martinez all returned the core of this Inter team.
03:44Seven starting tonight started the final two years ago, including Denzil Dumfries who was a semi-final hero against Barcelona.
03:50There's more experience in this Inter team than there is for PSG, but will that be decisive? Benjamin Pavard is back in the team after a month out.
04:11Well, both teams have found heroes along the way, both have been involved in big games with dramatic outcomes.
04:23It's the seventh final for Inter and a second for PSG.
04:28And it's a wonderful stadium for the final, one of the best in the whole of Europe, but it's a picture here tonight in Munich.
04:34PSG chasing history as well as a treble Inter want to be the first Italian team for 15 years to be European champions and the stage is well and truly set.
04:45So the 20-25 Champions League final is underway in pretty bizarre fashion with that kickoff from Paris Saint-Germain.
05:11For the second time it's a game between a team from France and a team from Italy, and for the very first time it's Paris Saint-Germain against Inter Milan.
05:21What about the kickoff, Kosti?
05:23Bizarre, we'll just call it bizarre, very strange.
05:28However, we're underway in full anticipation as we mentioned here.
05:35Interesting to see the opening minutes, it might be a little bit cagey, but...
05:39I don't think you will know tonight is it's the traditional kit, the home team tonight, the designated home team of PSG, so they're in the blue and red.
05:51And Inter Milan have gone for yellow, that's their third kit, they're the first team since 99 to play in their third strip in the final.
05:59That was the night Manchester United came back to be Bayern Munich.
06:04First confrontation down this side between Hakimi and Di Marco, and that's such a key area, Rio.
06:09Which of the full-backs can establish themselves as the attacking group?
06:12Yeah, we said in the pre-match programme three of the best full-backs in the world on show tonight, key areas.
06:18A lot of their attacking play and best play comes from those areas, so...
06:22those who concentrate most from best today, who'd like to think would come out on top.
06:27Here's the exciting Desiree Douay, now the Euros winner, Fabian Ruiz.
06:32And here's the engine room, Vitinha.
06:34Take it back for that full-back, Hakimi, look at him getting forward again, scored the French cup final at the weekend,
06:40there's already scored in the Champions League, I just think he's absolutely top class, I really do.
06:47Well, it's been a glorious day in Munich today, fitting for the showpiece night of the European club competitions this season.
06:54And after a new format, some pulsating games, we will see whether PSG or Inter can lift the Champions League trophy here tonight.
07:03So many potential match winners on the pitch, and Douay almost able to squeeze that one through to Fabian Ruiz.
07:09Here he is on the ball again, and Dembele's gone running ahead of him.
07:15Well, that's defended in there by Mkhitaryan, but the whistle is blown and the free kick given to Inter Milan.
07:22Just a little bit slack there, Fletch, Inter Milan. Lack of concentration.
07:30Just catches him there, not an awful lot in it right now.
07:34Well, there's Luis Enrique who's gonna become a hero in Paris if he wins tonight, he's been involved in ten one-off major finals as a coach with Barcelona and PSG, and he's won all of them.
07:49It's a remarkable record, it really is.
07:51And you can say what you like, one of his biggest achievements I think is turning this PSG team completely around into a very, very popular and well-liked side.
08:06That's Nicolo Barella, who's got a big role to play in this midfield three and into the midfield battle tonight, absolutely vital.
08:13The two keepers have both been excellent as well, Sommer particularly in the semi-final against Barcelona and Donnarumma all the way through.
08:21Ah, been terrific, Sommer only lost one goal in the first eight in the league section, only lost one goal, flash, remarkable.
08:28But you're quite right to point out Donnarumma equally in the other goal has been fantastic.
08:33That was Mendez, and now Khabar and Scalia.
08:46The early suggestion here, Rio, is that Inter Milan are going to be happy to see PSG have the lion's share of the ball.
08:59Yeah, and Inter will be comfortable with that, but then this is what they want in transitions when they get the ball.
09:04But Inter, I said before the game, I think everyone sees been there to see that they're probably the most comfortable team
09:12when their backs are against the wall, when they haven't got possession of the ball,
09:16when things look uncomfortable, they seem the most comfortable in their situations.
09:22This is Francesco Acherbi, who's got a big hole in his boots, the one he's wearing tonight,
09:27but he's scored in them in the semi-finals, so superstition means that he's got them on,
09:31despite the fact they're pretty shot-worn and damaged, Ali.
09:34No, I love that.
09:35There's Martinez, that's just a little bit sloppy out here towards him.
09:39Yeah, he's got in the wrong way, hasn't he? He's got to go the other side to De Vries,
09:43with the space on the right-hand side, Dan.
09:57It's astonishing, really, that these clubs are meeting for the first time competitively,
10:01based on how long they've been together in the Champions League.
10:04Simone Inzaghi, the 13th Italian coach in the Champions League final.
10:08If he wins tonight, he'll join Mourinho and Hellenio Herrera as a winner in this competition in charge of Inter Milan.
10:16Again, that wide area is going to be such a battle.
10:19Dumfries has been magnificent in this tournament, scored goals, assisted, especially in the knockout stages.
10:24He's up against, I think, the best defender in the left-back area, Mendes.
10:28I've got to say, when you see those PSG supporters, they've brought a large piece of the part they pranced to Munich tonight,
10:33they really have set themselves up.
10:35The Ilches were in nice and early, there's been plenty of noise from the Inter supporters,
10:39but I think the PSG fans have won the battle.
10:41Lush and Fletch, I think that we're going to dis-applaud it out already,
10:45I think we can be in agreement that Paris has been the best stadium we've enjoyed all season.
10:50The atmosphere within the place, we've been lucky enough to be there maybe three or four times,
10:55and the atmosphere has been absolutely terrific.
10:58Off goes Dewey down this side up against Alessandro Bastoni,
11:02just been voted the best defender in Italy for the second successive season,
11:06but he's given away the free kick here for a push.
11:09I love that, you can't beat that.
11:10The referee's assistant puts his flag up immediately after the referee gives the free kick.
11:15Just back to your point there, Ali, about Paris being the best place to go,
11:23I think Fletcher would argue that Profiteroles would have been the best in that part of the world.
11:27Yeah, certainly a winner. There's no doubt about that.
11:30Certainly Champions League Profiteroles, I'll give you that.
11:35So this is the first opportunity this evening for Marquinhos and William Pasho to get themselves forward,
11:41and Vitinha from this side is going to try and make something happen from the players.
11:44from the PSG free kick.
11:50It's a decent delivery as well, and they were charging in.
11:53Here's Fabian Ruiz, that's got a bad ball either, it's going to work its way here to Vitinha,
11:59who chips another one in towards the far side, and Marquinhos was in the middle of all of that,
12:03with that bright fluorescent captain's armband on.
12:06He just got blocked, he just got blocked to run.
12:09Marquinhos got blocked by a chair beam and a good run there, good delivery in.
12:13It's a real contrast out there tonight.
12:19The Inter Milan team was the oldest based on average age in the knockout stage of the competition,
12:25and when you look at this PSG team there's only Marquinhos in the group who's past the age of 30.
12:30And they've started the better here, Paris Saint-Germain.
12:35Joao Neves, Desiree Douai, and now Vitinha who's already seen plenty of the ball.
12:46Yeah, we've expected that haven't we?
12:49I think the game's taken apart and we thought it would, Rio.
12:54Yeah, Paris Saint-Germain in command in positions here, dominating possession.
12:59Interesting, quite happy in this position though. Yeah, they will be.
13:03Two or three step-overs there from Douai, a little roll of the ball under his studs, now Vitinha.
13:19So much talent out there tonight and the respective sides, they've been a dazzling team to watch this season, PSG,
13:24since they've really clicked into gear from 2-0 down against Manchester City.
13:28Hakimi well forward as he likes to do with the cross-defended in there by DeMarco.
13:34It's a lovely switch there from Mendes, left-back position out to the right-hand side.
13:39You know what, I've really enjoyed Pacho, I've really enjoyed the way he's defended, 1v1,
13:44seems very happy to do so.
13:46Well, it's been a revelation, hasn't he, alongside Marquinhos,
13:50the second Ecuadorian to play in a Champions League final after Antonio Valencia in 2011.
13:55He's been a breakout player in this competition for the Champions of France.
14:00There's the first shot tonight, which comes in from Douai,
14:09just switched from the right to the left, and it was a comfortable one for Jan Sommer.
14:25There's Marcus Turan looking to use his strength against Marquinhos,
14:29which he does to great effect.
14:31Martinez hasn't played since the second leg of the semi-final,
14:34and he plays it out here to Dumfries, now Barella.
14:38That was an interesting tussle there, Rio. Marquinhos and Turan, wasn't it?
14:47That was brilliant number nine playing that one for Turan, you played the ball up to your number nine.
14:52It's probably 70-30 in his favour, but he brings it in, controls the defender.
14:59That shot was mentioned before the game, Rio.
15:01I think the two, and we mentioned them playing with front two, thanks to Milan.
15:04The one thing about the front two, generally speaking, it sticks when you fire it up to them.
15:09.
15:11Forward by Acherbi, straight through to Donnarumma, it's easy to make the narrative of irresistible force against immutable object,
15:19but they've scored 114 goals this season into Milan, so it's not just PSG that can take a team apart.
15:38If there is an omen tonight for the Parisians, the last four Champions League finals played in Munich
15:43have provided four first-time winners, the last one's Chelsea in 2012, so you wonder.
15:50Dembele, shooting chance, Dembele.
15:54He finds the gloves for Sommers.
15:58Statistically, Ali, he's had a great season, but in the last six weeks of the season,
16:01the goals have dried up a little bit.
16:03Yeah, I think you make a good point.
16:06That said, you've got to balance it, we've seen he has had a terrific season, I mentioned before,
16:11and I just think he's really enjoying the responsibility that's been put on him now and placed on him,
16:17in terms of his goals.
16:22Here's the elegant Kavica Kaparec, Scalia, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, it's a lovely ball through,
16:30Douay flag stays down, accepted by O'Keevan!
16:33And based on the fact he was once an Inter Milan player, there's barely a celebration from the right-back of Paris Saint-Germain,
16:46but it's the French champions who strike first in Munich in the Champions League final,
16:51and Hakimi, who's been one of the best players this season, he might be the best right-back on the planet,
16:57fires them in front for inside 12 minutes.
16:59Well, there's nothing worse than somebody saying I told you so, but did mention his goal in the Cup final,
17:03we've seen his goals in the Champions League, wouldn't it be interesting to see it again?
17:07I think it's DiMarco that plays him onside, DiMarco's too deep, he's far too deep, and he gets caught out.
17:13There, he gets sucked into the foot of Hakimi, he takes DiMarco into that position,
17:18and DiMarco is at least two yards deeper than any other defender.
17:23And look at that, Casio doesn't panic, lays it on a plate.
17:29Well, he's completed the set, scored in the quarter-final, scored in the semi-final, scored in the final,
17:35nine goals this season at Paris Saint-Germain.
17:38We're in an era where right-back, where full-backs are allowed, given the licence to go forward and affect games,
17:43he does it as well as anybody on the planet.
17:46But what about the composure of the 19-year-old Dewey to lay it across to face a goal there,
17:50because most like kids with a shot there wanted the glory.
17:53100%.
17:54Decision-making at his finest.
17:56100%.
17:57Well, we give you this statistic every time we watch PSG play,
18:0299 games now since the 0-0 in the Champions League for them, Ali, I know that's your favourite.
18:07And an early goal on a big night like this does wonders for the nerves,
18:11and Paris Saint-Germain, who has scored plenty of them this season, have got the lead,
18:16and they've been such a good team when they've had a lead this season.
18:21Do you know what I'm going to say? In terms of the game, and I hope this is correct,
18:24if we wanted an early goal, I think we wanted the French to score it.
18:27Had it gone the other way, I think Inter Milan just sat back and defended and defended.
18:31Now they can't do that, they cannot afford to do that.
18:34To emphasise how good they've been, that's the 148th goal scored in all competitions this season by PSG,
18:40only Barcelona have managed to score more.
18:43And DiMarco had a bit of a Torrey time, didn't he, when he played against Lamin-Yamal,
18:50and that's not going to do his confidence any good,
18:52being the player that played them onside, didn't get out quickly enough.
18:55Yeah, I think he was panicking there, I've been in that situation,
18:57you drop deeper than your other defenders and you do panic, you've got to hold your line,
19:01you've got to hold your nerve in those situations, that's concentration,
19:04a lack of it in that big, big moment.
19:06It's amazing actually, it's his opposition right back that's forced him into that position.
19:16Well it's the Paris Saint-Germain supporters you can hear inside this Allianz Arena,
19:22a 1-0 lead, and it's given to them by Ashraf Hakimi,
19:27it's 11 years since the team that conceded the first goal came back to win the final,
19:31it was the year Real Madrid came back to beat Atletico Madrid in Lisbon,
19:35and it's only happened five times in the last 25 finals,
19:38the first goal so often decisive, and Inzaghi, who we've just seen, knows that.
19:42Yeah, vital, absolutely vital.
19:56I mean, from an inter-perspective, Rio, they just need the ball for a bit, don't they?
19:59They've hardly seen it, 63% possession so far for PSG in the early stages.
20:04Yeah, but I think, we've said it before, I think other teams, when they don't have the ball,
20:08they don't feel comfortable, they may be panicking, worrying about and concerned about things,
20:12but this team are too experienced to worry about that.
20:15They've been here many times.
20:23Here's Benjamin Pavard who hasn't played for a month, he's been out with an ankle injury,
20:27but he's back tonight and got the nod over Jan Bissek, who's on the bench.
20:30Dumfries is gonna take the throw-in, had that outstanding semi-final against Barcelona,
20:37and he's had an outstanding individual season in general, Ali, with 11 goals.
20:41I mean, we talk about Hakimi and Mendoz, but Dumfries has been as good as them.
20:45We're talking about the importance of full-backs now getting forward, it's amazing.
20:48Challenge straight there by Hakimi after a little cheeky nutmeg from Bastogne.
20:57Yeah, and we enjoy one of them, don't we? Enjoy a nutmeg.
21:00I'll tell you what's been nice to see, the first 15 minutes,
21:03the intensity of the press of the PSG team, they're going high, they're going aggressive,
21:08they're forcing this inter-team to think much more than they'd like.
21:11That was the inter-talisman, Lautaro Martinez, their leading scorer, and captain.
21:20And he's won his side, the free-kick.
21:31Got to go back to 1996, the cupman has come,
21:34the only time that Paris Saint-Germain have won a European trophy of any description.
21:38They've chased this one for so long and they've got the lead early here in Munich tonight.
21:43And the referee didn't see that as a foul, William Pacho came across on Denzil Dumfries.
21:49I thought that might have been a free kick, I think as soon as Dumfries gets there first,
21:53Pacho takes him out a little bit, look at the closing, look at the closing.
21:58Tell you what, what about the composure from the goalkeeper under pressure as well?
22:01It's intense, this press from PSG.
22:06Nuno Mendes, Kamara and Scali are cutting in.
22:10And he's usually so much better in positions like that one.
22:13Look at Inzaghi in the touchline, he's so frustrated that they're not keeping the ball.
22:19I said it before, this is a young, athletic, dynamic Paris Saint-Germain team who tactically have been perfect all season.
22:29You look at them ready to press, look at them ready to go right now.
22:34They're under orders.
22:36They're concerned already, the Inter supporters.
22:38I mean, Dembele was stood there like a sprinter on the block.
22:41He was, he really was.
22:42Problem over there for Nuno Mendes, he's got a bang on the head.
22:49He just catches the right elbow doesn't he?
23:03Here's the goal, look.
23:05Lovely little run.
23:07What the awareness there, look at that.
23:08Oh, the composure.
23:09The composure's amazing, it really is.
23:22Love those little celebrations, love them.
23:24And don't forget we've got every match live from Roland Garros.
23:30That goes all the way through until the 8th of June on TNT Sports.
23:33Jack Draper's into round four, he's beaten João Fonseca.
23:37Tomorrow you'll see Arena Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz as well.
23:42And we've got the Gallagher Premiership rugby play-offs as well.
23:46Bath against Leicester on Friday.
23:48And then Leicester playing Sale on Saturday.
23:52Tour de France, that starts on the 5th of July as well,
23:55so make sure you join us for that.
24:00All of it on TNT Sports and Discovery Plus.
24:11And just so you're not confused, it's Bath against Bristol on Friday.
24:14Sale out playing twice.
24:16West Country, Derby Alley.
24:18I've got a lot to concentrate on tonight.
24:22There's a lot going on there.
24:23There's a lot going on there.
24:24There's no one in there at your back to help you, I was sleeping myself.
24:27So this is the first real inter-opportunity to put a bit of pressure on.
24:34It's in towards Turan and Fliktoll, and there's Pacho heading the ball away.
24:39And Barella couldn't get inside the corner, and now Khabar and Scalia can come running away.
24:44Ousmane Dembele.
24:46Douai's up there, so is Fabian Ruiz and João Neves.
24:51It's Douai to hit one and it's in!
24:53And that's how quick it can happen against this Paris Saint-Germain team.
24:59And poor old Di Marco was in the wrong place at the wrong time again, and PSG lead 2-0 after 20 minutes, and they're in complete control of this Champions League final.
25:15I'm gonna tell you who makes it, it's Rio's man at the back, Pacho.
25:18He refuses to give up on that ball getting out for a corner, keeps it in play, all of a sudden they've got a break down the left-hand side.
25:25You and I are pointing to Douai, because we see him going in the right, it's just a matter of getting the ball to him.
25:30Yes, he gets the break with the deflection, I think it comes off to Marco, look at this.
25:34There's a willingness for the defender not to give up on it, and away they go and they get the benefit here with the break.
25:41We talked about the pace on the break of this Paris Saint-Germain side.
25:45And the big differences this year is the decision-making as well.
25:48And this 19-year-old kid, he's gonna be an absolute superstar, a bit fortunate with the finish, I know, but he's in the right place.
25:55Again, makes the right decision, what a player.
25:58Rio, he turns his back, Di Marco.
26:00You can't turn your back in a situation like that.
26:02He can't turn your back, you've got to face the ball.
26:05You cannot turn his back, yes, he's a little bit unfortunate, but if he's looking at it, he might be able to handle it a bit better.
26:12I wouldn't be accepting that if he'd be getting volleyed at the half-time.
26:19I don't know whether Di Marco's had an issue with black cats or whether he's been walking under ladders,
26:24but he's had a nightmare start to this Champions League final.
26:27He's not helped himself at all by turning his back, but Due's had such a good season, hasn't he, for PSG?
26:33Ali, Ali, he's playing the last two games in the Champions League, unfortunately for him.
26:37He's playing against the two best young players on the planet right now.
26:41I don't disagree with that.
26:43And arguably the best right back, although that doesn't look like it, best right back on the planet as well.
26:48What a touch from Donnarumma.
26:50Nice Dumfries getting back on the ball here for Inter Milan, they've got to score the next goal in the final,
26:58that's a guarantee, and they've got a corner.
27:00I mean, the big question here is can they come back from this?
27:022-0 down and they're being overrun by PSG.
27:05Well, the answer is yes, they can't, but will they?
27:10That's the bigger question.
27:24So the corner taken by Talanoglu and headed over the top of the bar by Acherby.
27:29That's a chance, he gets up well.
27:32Good delivery in, nothing funny about it, just plays it into the box, he gets up really, really well.
27:38Probably should direct that back when it came from, looks like a clearing off header,
27:43yes, he's under a little bit of pressure.
27:45I'm thinking he should be hitting the target with that.
27:47Well, they're off to a magnificent start here, PSG, he's the manager, Simone Inzaghi,
27:53under all kinds of pressure, first time that he's been up against Enrique tonight.
27:57PSG can become the ninth club to win the travel of League, Domestic Cup and Champions League.
28:02Luis Enrique did it with Barcelona a decade ago, and he can become the seventh coach
28:07to win the Champions League with two different clubs,
28:10the last one being Pep Guardiola against Inter Milan a couple of years ago.
28:14And they're off to this magnificent start with early goals from Hakimi and Due.
28:19That's what they've done really well.
28:26Yes, the centre-backs have been uptight against the two number nines,
28:29but the actual midfielders, Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz at times,
28:33that second ball's nibbling back on that number nine touch.
28:36It's very important.
28:54On it goes by Nudo Mendes, Benjamin Pavard had a run down that side.
28:59The last team to recover from a two-goal deficit to win a Champions League final,
29:03Liverpool 3-0 down against AC Milan in 05.
29:07Due, who scored tonight, wasn't even born then.
29:10I was up that game and I still can't believe I've ever won that.
29:18Luis Marquinhos, 485th game for Paris Saint-Germain tonight,
29:22no player in the history of the club has ever played more games for them.
29:26The confidence of these young kids nowadays in the game is different.
29:38I don't know if I've seen as many young players in the game,
29:41like we are seeing in this current generation,
29:43who perform so confidently no matter what the stage.
29:47Due, supremely confident.
29:50Look at you watching right now, you're looking at Dembele on the right-hand side here,
29:56and Hakimi is actually in the centre-forward position.
30:00And he's staying there.
30:02Francesco Acherbi starting a Champions League final at the age of 37.
30:20Up it goes, more in hope than expectation by Inter Milan,
30:23and it's immediately won back here by PSG.
30:25This is a young PSG team, this is scary for opposition teams watching on here.
30:49For years to come it seems, they get over the line here.
30:53You start thinking, how many can they win?
31:02So much confidence and authority, Ali, about the way they're popping the ball about.
31:06It's just the confidence, if you can.
31:08The movement's excellent.
31:10Simple things like giving the ball to the player on the right side,
31:13one touch just coming off.
31:15Nice round for Hakimi, up against Di Marco, there's Fabian Ruiz with the shot.
31:24I mean, they're gonna have to go long again, look.
31:38He's just gotta go long, he has to.
31:46That's well done by Turan.
31:49Here's Dumfries.
31:50Hardly mentioned Chalanoglu and Varela in possession of the ball,
31:56I don't think we've seen Mkhitaryan at all.
31:59Dumfries with the cross, Martinez thought about the bicycle kick.
32:02And in the end it's cleared away by João Neves.
32:06I think Di Marco's got to get into the back post here.
32:12That little position that Neves just took up there to clear the ball,
32:15such an important point there.
32:16Any knockdowns, he's there, clearing the lines.
32:21For one so young, takes positions up so well.
32:24Coming into the game tonight, PSG with the team in form,
32:32they'd won four games in a row, they'd scored 12 goals in the process.
32:36The form of Inter Milan had just dropped off a little bit
32:39in the final weeks of the Italian league season,
32:41Napoli winning the title, they've got to deal with disappointment to that.
32:44A massive disappointment.
32:45They're up against this team, playing like this tonight here in Munich.
32:47And they did great performances in the semi-final,
32:49but you're right to mention, I think a couple of defeats against Bologna and Roma,
32:53and obviously lost a last-minute goal against Lazio,
32:57which effectively cost them Serie A.
33:01Di Marco in there quickly on Hakimi, Nicola Barella.
33:05Look at him getting back there.
33:07Look at the pace there, Hakimi.
33:08Look at him getting back there.
33:10He scored your goal 1-1 and the pace,
33:13he gets caught out of position here.
33:17He's offside.
33:18Yeah, at great pace.
33:23Well, that goal from Desiree Due means he's the third teenager to score in a Champions League final
33:33after Patrick Kleiver in 1995 and Carlos Alberto Porto under Jose Mourinho in 2004.
33:41And they're having the time of their lives at the moment,
33:44the Paris Saint-Germain supporters here in Munich.
33:47There's Marquinhos, everything right now has to be long from an Inter Milan perspective,
33:51because they just can't sustain an attack, Ali.
34:06They can't not.
34:07Two front lines look isolated at this moment in time.
34:14There's clearly a lot more connection in the PSG side.
34:19Two front boys went to Milan, nobody near them, none of the midfielders getting up to them.
34:23Statistically speaking, Ali, it's a landslide, seven attempts for PSG,
34:28five on target and two goals.
34:30They've had one solitary effort off-target so far, Inter,
34:34but it's Pavard for them, in towards Martinez, back there was Vitinha,
34:38and there he is again.
34:40It's a good touch here, Pavard, actually.
34:42Steven Gerrard spoke about it with Rowan Harvey before the game,
34:46about that defensive midfielder position sometimes is a destroyer,
34:49Vitinha's more of a controller, but you see again in that little position there,
34:53clearing things up, doing both sides of the game well.
35:10It's a big night for French football, let alone Paris Saint-Germain,
35:1429 years since the French team last lifted the European trophy
35:18and three years longer since the country's one and only win in this competition.
35:22French clubs have only won two of their last 15 European finals,
35:27but they couldn't have made a better start here, Paris Saint-Germain.
35:30It's just too easy to play against that.
35:36Dembele looking to pull it back, he'll settle for the corner,
35:39defending them there by Dumfries for Inter.
35:41They're looking a bit shell-shocked.
35:43They're looking a bit shell-shocked.
35:46But why wouldn't they?
35:47So Nuno Mendes, talented young left-back of Paris Saint-Germain,
35:52is out there to take this corner.
35:54movement in the centre from Marquinhos, who was trying to get there.
35:59Lifted in then by Hakimi.
36:00That's gonna float behind.
36:01Just asking the referee there, Marquinhos, whether there was a hand in the back as he started to jump.
36:06There's the press again.
36:07I can't take my eyes off the belly every time they get the ball,
36:08attempt to play it out the back.
36:09I can't take my eyes off the belly every time they get the ball,
36:10attempt to play it out the back.
36:11And do you know what it is?
36:12You can talk about the ability,
36:13and do you know what it is?
36:14You can talk about the ability,
36:15and do you know what it is?
36:16I can't take my eyes off the belly every time they get the ball,
36:17attempt to play it out the back.
36:18And do you know what it is, you can talk about the ability,
36:33and they've got absolutely bundles of ability,
36:38particularly in forward areas,
36:39but see a willingness just in a desire to run a ball,
36:45But see a willingness just in a desire to run about and close down in an attitude
36:51Goes a long way
37:00For a scale here
37:03Just on that point any good team that you played in it was successful that won one trophies
37:09You all love running you're not working for each other. You enjoyed that part of it
37:12Hundred percent his Paris Saint-Germain team seemed very similar in that respect. You look at them real I mean
37:18It's staggering the way they are ready
37:20They are poised when Somers get the ball and he wants to play it. They just can't play it out
37:25Dembele has been closing down threatening every pass to every defender excellent opening half hour from Paris
37:32Oh
37:40Given away by Pacho straight to channel of loop
37:43Barella over on that side
37:50There's Fabian Ruiz and now João Neves, Vitini is in all kinds of space
37:56And it goes down to Usman Dembele
37:58He wants to get a DeMarco this time he blocks it behind for the corner
38:08You know what it feels to me they're picking on DeMarco I've seen him as the weakness
38:12I feel sorry for him in that respect yeah
38:14But every ball is going out to the right hand side no matter who's out there whether it's Dewey or Dembele
38:19A little shake of the head there might indicate his feeling a bit sorry for himself as well right now DeMarco
38:26It was PSG's point of view guys you've got to get out as quickly and as early as you possibly can so you can isolate DeMarco
38:35It's been like a rabbit in the headlights for the opening 34 minutes of this Champions League final
38:40So Mendes has Dembele out here with him it's an orthodox delivery from the corner Marquinhos with the header
38:57I think to kind of pick up on the points that you and Rhea are making about the way the game's being played
39:10There's not a great deal to cling to right now if you you're an inter player
39:13There's not anything that you're looking at developing or happening that gives you belief that they can turn it
39:18I don't think I defend them well enough. I don't think looking at the ball forward into the wider areas
39:23And two as I say two center ballers look isolated at this moment in time
39:28Don Frischu has been absolutely excellent in the two
39:31Semi-final games hasn't got going yet either
39:34DeMarco's ball here to the veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan quickly it goes in Pasho
39:39Did enough whether he got a flick there I'm not sure but no touch it's gone out for a PSG throw-in
39:45Better play
39:48It's about managing this game now for Paris Saint Germain's point of view you got a 2-0 lead you've got
39:58They're a young team you look at the ages of these players
40:01Not many have experienced this Marquinhos was there the last time there at this stage
40:11That's brilliant, that's just brilliant
40:13I mean that was that was a perfect exhibition of out of trouble with a defensive switch of play
40:22What's your play?
40:32Marquinhos looking here for Kevara at Scalier and Somer quickly across her into the lap.
40:45.
40:58Swept on by Dumfries to Martinez, now Turab.
41:02.
41:12Varela.
41:18Chaladoglu with the cross and Turab was coming in and there's Pasho again,
41:21just emphasising the point that Rio's made about how important he is defensively to PSG.
41:27Positional change, absolutely first class from the centre-back goal.
41:33Perfect, making sure nothing gets past that front post, puts it out for a corner,
41:39does what he needs to do.
41:41Only 23, hadn't played in the Champions League until this season,
41:44he goes the inter-corner towards Chiran!
41:47Has to score that, doesn't he?
41:49It's a mismatch at the back post, I can tell you that, was it Van Aix-Skele that's on him?
41:54It's a mismatch.
41:57It is.
41:59Yeah, I think you make a point, he's certainly going to hit the target again,
42:01what a chance that is, he gets up well.
42:04Got to hit the target there, Al.
42:08One of those, Ali, where all the pace is on the cross, he's only got to guide it.
42:12Correct.
42:13I think it's been quite remarkable, the transformation of Paris Saint-Germain under Enrique,
42:30they've given him the right players now with the right attitude, and he's put together a magnificent team.
42:35Well, do you know what it is, I was speaking to Manny Petit about it, I remember about ten days ago,
42:40and he said it's remarkable the turnaround, and what they are, and I know it's a crazy thing to say,
42:46he said now in France they're likeable, not just within Paris and PSG fans,
42:51because beforehand he felt there was an arrogance about them, you know,
42:55they weren't particularly liked in other parts of France, he says that has been down to Enrique,
43:02the way they play, young lads, and it's really evident, you can see it, they're just a breath of fresh air,
43:08I mean how much have we enjoyed going to Paris, lads?
43:10Yeah, I think the best place to go this year, when you get young players in the team,
43:15young players who want to work and they show that fire and desire,
43:19definite connection between themselves and the fans.
43:28What I would say, guys, is you can't write off this into Milan team,
43:31the experience they have, what they've shown.
43:33Luno Mendes OK after the treatment, it's a little bit sloppy though from Vitini.
43:54It's the first half that has six minutes remaining,
43:58Ashraf Hakimi after 12 minutes, and then Desiree Due,
44:02eight minutes after that, Donnarumma arriving there in time.
44:10One thing they do allow you, though, Paris Saint-Germain, is a chance,
44:14I mean he's played 39 games this season, Donnarumma,
44:18he's only kept ten clean sheets, and here's Turan with a little flick,
44:21might well have needed to be a fraction more patient there to give Martinez the chance to get forward.
44:26I think he's got to take it in, I know he's trying to release Martinez,
44:30but he's got to take that one in.
44:34PSG are a team that give you a chance and do tend to concede a goal.
44:39Here's Turan.
44:43Dumfries.
44:44And there's Marquinhos, now Barella, but it's a poor touch by the Italian international.
44:49gave Marquinhos the chance to deal with it, and it goes now towards Turan,
44:53and there's Pasho again, who's missed nothing in the opening 40 minutes tonight.
44:58I'll tell you what, Darren, the next goal is vitally important.
45:00I'll tell you, if Inter get the next goal, the dynamics of this game change dramatically.
45:03They're just starting to turn the screw a little bit here.
45:13As I say that, Paris Saint-Germain kept their foot on the ball, play away out of trouble.
45:16Yeah, Kilar Escalia waiting for it out there on the left-hand side.
45:19He's got two though, Havard and Dumfries, here's Dembele.
45:23Douay, now Fabian Ruiz on to Hakimi.
45:33Zaghi's got rid of the jacket.
45:35High stakes out there tonight.
45:45Vitina.
45:46That's what I said, you look at his position again, Dembele, so deep.
45:50The Italian centre-backs have got nobody to pick up, they don't like it.
45:55It's almost like you have to be in the stadium to watch Dembele's movement
45:58and how he just affects the opposition with his deaf little touches of movement.
46:11Marquinhos, Srao Neves.
46:20That's too high for Dembele.
46:28Just to go back to Dembele, the point is with him, I think, which is wonderful to watch him
46:32and the way he's evolved as a player in his new position.
46:34Because he actually plays away from the ball a lot of the time.
46:36Yeah.
46:37You know, young players, especially when you're tempted to go to the ball,
46:40it attracts you to the ball where all the traffic is.
46:42He goes away where there's more space.
46:44And as long as you've got good players who can find him, he'll affect the game.
46:51Sommer had to hurry again.
46:52It's a pass that nobody picks out his coach.
46:54And it's the press.
46:55It's the press that puts him under pressure.
46:57That's what it is, it's exactly what it is.
46:59Big night for Donnarumma, isn't it, as well, when you think about his connections to AC Milan.
47:15He's up against Inter tonight, so bragging rights for the PSG goalkeeper.
47:20He's gone out there to the left and Kvaratskely has just come out to the right for now.
47:50There's that ball again, Ali, from the left to the right that gets him out.
47:55Yeah, DeMarco isn't back in the left-back position,
47:58because Vanetskely has pushed him away up there, and that's that loan Hakeem in his base.
48:02Very clever.
48:06Just taking the sting back out of Inter Milan with this spell of possession, Paris Saint-Germain,
48:10just when you felt the Italians might be warming up a little bit.
48:15And it's Dewey, and he goes towards Dembélé coming in!
48:19Well, I think he could have won the final there and then.
48:21If he goes 3-0 before half-time, surely there's no way back.
48:24His movement's nothing short of magnificent.
48:26He sucks DeMarco in as if he's gonna go in front of him and then spins around behind him.
48:30His movement is absolutely different class, but that said, he should score.
48:35Can't wait till we see the replay, but Dewey's ball as well was outrageous.
48:40Yeah.
48:41To see the movement and to execute with it on the plate.
48:44Real, wait till you see the movement.
48:45He goes front, and just when DeMarco goes front, he spins in behind him.
48:48One thing I've just seen out of picture, just to kind of emphasize how Enrique's feeling,
48:53the moment they turn the ball over from the press,
48:57he put his hands in the air and applaud his team.
48:59He's so happy by what he's seeing his team do out of possession here tonight.
49:03Here they come with Akemi, but DeMarco just able to clear.
49:12I would count it at the Shane Flair, if he's not happy with us 44 minutes,
49:15he'll kick some, please.
49:16Here's Benjamin Pavard, who's won a Champions League before, won a World Cup as well,
49:25but that's one back over there.
49:27But how does Akemi, the right-back, win the ball pressing in the left wing position?
49:31Left wing position.
49:32It's so aggressive.
49:35What?
49:36All over the pitch, they're so aggressive.
49:37Starting from the forwards all the way through to the centre-backs,
49:40everyone is going man-to-man all over the park, confidently.
49:44Acherbi.
50:00Martinez, two additional minutes here at the end of the first half
50:05that's been dominated by Paris Saint-Germain.
50:10Intercepted by Nuno Mendes, and now Dewey's on the ball.
50:13And he's got runners up there with him, Fabian Ruiz,
50:16but what about that for skill?
50:17Do I look him to shoot?
50:18My word.
50:19That was a bother of all step almost.
50:21Well, you'll have to pay to get back in, as they say, the old ones.
50:24But again, that starts Pacho.
50:30Pacho's tight, up against the forward, gets a deflection,
50:33change of possession, get a shot off.
50:43Given away again by Inter Milan straight to Fabian Ruiz.
50:46It's a massive 15 minutes coming up here for Simone Inzaghi.
50:50He's got to try and get some belief back into his team.
50:53He's got to try and get back into his team.
51:01Neves.
51:0391.
51:0495.
51:0591.
51:0694.
51:0795.
51:0894.
51:0995.
51:1095.
51:1195.
51:1295.
51:1395.
51:1494.
51:1595.
51:1695.
51:1795.
51:1895.
51:19Disney news.
51:26Moving towards the final 30 seconds of this first half and Paris Saint-Germain, as they have done all the way through, controlling the ball.
51:40Khabar and Scalia.
51:46His turn to tease and torment, twist and shoot.
51:50That's just wide.
51:52He's been relatively quiet in the first half, and we saw the best of him there.
51:57It takes a look at deflection, doesn't it?
51:59It's worth pointing out when Barrett Skelly has that shot,
52:04both PSG full-backs are 20 yards from the opposition goal.
52:12So this is the last chance of the half if there's time.
52:15Now Ousmane Dembele's come out to take the corner.
52:20It's headed on by Khabar and Scalia.
52:30And headed over the top of the bar by the Georgian.
52:34What a chance that is. What a chance.
52:37Well, that's half-time, and there's the Khabar and Scalia chance right on the stroke of it.
52:41Two goals, though, in the first half, a dominant Paris Saint-Germain performance.
52:45Ashraf Hakimi after 12 minutes, and then Desiree Douai eight minutes later,
52:50scoring his 14th goal of a fantastic season after 20 minutes.
52:55And right now, all Parisian roads lead to Champions League glory.
52:59Half-time in Munich, it's Paris Saint-Germain 2, Inter Milan 0.
53:03Digание faster than 2-0, Inter Milan 05 tangerine,
53:13and back toime Landil.
53:17JAN systemic failure.
53:19They showed it in next 1 in Munich.
53:21And finally, they welcomed Inter Milan 0-1 with a big inflops at Bay 72o1 after a group of 10 meters.
