00:00Oh, we love when dogs come in. I think it just really adds to the vibe of the place.
00:05Welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Houston Betts, and today's video is all about the summer.
00:09Because, as you can see from the sun beating down upon my face, summer is here in Manchester.
00:15And that means lots of excitement. But for families, this can sometimes be tough, particularly if you have a dog.
00:20So the whole point of this video is to show you one of the best dog-friendly, family-friendly places in Manchester
00:25that you can go this summer. And it's right behind me. It's the Dog Bowl.
00:28Dog Bowl is a super chill, super cool, and super lax bar. And we really want to meet your dog, so please, please come.
00:36We've got bowling, we've got the arcades, we've got food, we've got the bar, we've got a bit of everything, really.
00:42Dog Bowl initially was created by a very old owner, and he had a dog called Bruce, who's actually in the logo of Dog Bowl.
00:51Staff do get quite distracted, me included, when Puffy's come in.
00:56I think it's just, it's just nice.
00:59Those are dogs about, we're not really a lot of places, more dogs to go to.
01:03And just having somewhere to bring your puppy with you, and it just eases the tension, eases the anxiety of things, doesn't it?
01:09We just ask that they're kept on a lead, just because we've had puppies try and run after the bowling balls down the lanes.
01:15It's kind of like a dog haven, and they're just not allowed to run after the balls, which is quite sad.
01:18Now, obviously, the fact that it's dog-friendly is a big feature of this video, but genuinely, this is such a diverse bar.
01:26The cocktail menu is brilliant.
01:27You see here the Mango of the Dead being made, which really packed a punch.
01:32And this is the Bomber Eater, which is a bit of a spicy marg.
01:35And the bowling is genuinely great.
01:36You've got a bunch of different themes, and you'll just have to ignore how bad I am.
01:40But this wide range means that they can serve a variety of customers.
01:43Like, student, like corporate, a lot of hospitality workers come in as well, because we do quite a lot of, like, student discounts and, like, six-pound cocktails, and I don't think anyone can say no to that.
01:52I think the biggest thing about us is that our staff are so chatty and that our staff are able to talk to customers.
01:58I don't think there's anything worse than going to a bar where I'm not able to talk to the bartender, or it's just so brushed and they're so running around and you just feel bad.
02:07I think it's nice to hear that you get to chat to customers, get to know people.
02:13My favourite part of my day is literally just asking people what they're up to and then just having, like, a five, ten-minute conversation about God knows what.
02:21Now, again, the offering here is really varied.
02:23The bowling is obviously great.
02:24Not that I'm very good at it.
02:25The arcades require little tokens, but the consoles there are completely free to play.
02:29The drinks aren't too expensive either.
02:31So let's watch this final failed attempt at bowling.
02:37Well, I thought it was all going to work out for the last one.
02:45It hasn't quite.
02:46I am rubbish at bowling, but Dog Bowl is a family-friendly, student-friendly, dog-friendly, brilliant place to spend a couple of hours and get a couple of drinks as well.
02:56So come down, give it a try, follow Manchester World for more.
