00:00A Stanley Cup final rematch would follow suit to what we saw a season ago.
00:06Yeah, and buckle up, because last year was highly entertaining.
00:10I know Florida took the first three games, but Edmonton pushed that series to seven.
00:14And I mentioned, you know, in the previous block, the goals were 14 to 14 at five and five.
00:20The Panthers had the edge and shot attempts and scoring chances, but one more shot on net.
00:24Two more high danger chances at five and five.
00:27It was a very even series, despite the way it started.
00:30And I think the Oilers learned something from that series as well as, you know, as it got on a little bit longer and deeper.
00:36You know, games four, five, six and seven, 19 goals scored.
00:39They had an eight spot in one of those games.
00:41McDavid had 11 points in seven games.
00:42He had nothing in game six or seven, unfortunately, still went on to win the Conn Smythe as the MVP of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
00:49But I do believe in just I don't know if you guys think this is silly or not,
00:54but I'm a big believer in learning how to lose before you learn how to win.
00:57I look at 1982-83, Wayne Gretzky's first Stanley Cup appearance.
01:01He lost to the Islanders, who were on a run.
01:03What happened the following year?
01:05Gretzky and the Oilers beat the Islanders.
01:07How about Sidney Crosby in 2007-2008?
01:10His first Stanley Cup appearance with the Pittsburgh Penguins, lost to Detroit Red Wings the following year, beat the Detroit Red Wings.
01:16So I'm a big believer in learning how to lose before you learn how to win.
01:19You can go across other sports, the Eagles a couple years later, a similar squad taking care of the Kansas City Chiefs.
01:24How about those Cavs and Warriors runs?
01:27I know that the Warriors had 3-0-4, but Cleveland got the second series in the rematch there before Kevin Durant joined Steph Curry and company.
01:36So I'm a big believer in learning how to lose before you learn how to win.
01:39I think this Oilers team went through a lot of adversity last year in the playoffs.
01:42There were some deep series this year, you know, losing the first two games to the LA Kings.
01:47They've been 12-2 since.
01:49They've had really no adversity through the past couple of rounds.
01:53It looks like they're kind of clicking here on all cylinders and getting the scoring depth that I talked about before.
01:58But it's not going to be easy, right?
01:59I mean, we have the Florida Panthers here.
02:01So I do believe this is a series that's going to go 7.
02:03But right now I'm kind of feeling the Edmonton Oilers.
02:05And when you have Connor McDavid and Leon Dreisettel motivated as they are, I kind of like their chances.
02:10As you see there, the short game, 7 plus 165.
02:12I think that's a solid number.
02:14It should be a great series here.
02:16And yes, if you put that into perspective, must lose before you win here.
02:19Ben has lost a lot at the Sports Grid Network until he teamed up with me, Chris.
02:23Now a lot of winning here on the horizon.
