03:59There are so many different kinds of soap, and they all have different jobs to do.

04:08There's soap for washing dishes, soap for washing clothes, a gentle liquid, a box of powder.

07:27This is where it all begins. In these giant pans. They're like huge cooking pots.

07:35They pour in some oil made from plants.

07:40Some water, some salty water, and something called caustic soda.

07:55They're all mixed together and heated to make soap.

08:00It's just like cooking.

08:02When the soap's ready, it goes into a big dryer where the water's taken out and the soap gets cooler.

08:24As it gets cooler and drier, it gets harder, and it comes out like this.

08:31These little pieces of soap are called noodles.

08:39They're quite squashy.

08:41Then the noodles are poured into a huge bag.

08:48Here come the noodles.

09:12And now Alex putting in some colour.

09:15And then some perfume.

09:27In here, the noodles are squeezed and squashed together to make one long piece.

09:45This machine cuts round bars of soap out of the billet.

09:48And the bits left over go back to be used again.

10:08Now all that's left to do is put them in boxes ready to sell at the supermarket.
