Transcript
00:00So our charity of the year this year, ladies and gentlemen, is going to be presented by the ladies doing the photography tonight.
00:05Please welcome Vicks from Vicky Photography.
00:08This award recognises an organisation that has made a significant impact on the community.
00:14Now tonight we honour a progressive charity that champions the rights of individuals with learning disabilities and their families.
00:22The charity provides invaluable support, helping families navigate paperwork, budgeting and benefits critical services for those in need.
00:34And this amazing charity is truly making a difference by improving facilities and opportunities for individuals with learning difficulties.
00:44So the winner tonight, ladies and gentlemen, of the charity of the year is Worthy MENCAP.
00:49Fantastic. How long have you been following the team?
00:52Oh, about 20 years.
00:54Wow, okay. You've achieved a lot in 20 years.
00:56Yep, we're growing all the time.
00:57And what's coming up in the future?
00:59Oh, we've got lots of events. We're doing more and more services to fill the gaps that are not there in the community anymore.
01:06There's a lot of people out there in the learning disabled and autism community that need help and support.
01:11They've got various challenges and we're there to help them.
01:14And so there's always going to be a lot of work to be done in the brain during this luncheon weekend.
01:18It's incredibly rewarding for you for doing it for 20 years.
01:21Absolutely, yes. It's really satisfying to be able to give something back.
01:25But it's not just us who are here, there's a whole lot of us.
01:29And I'd like to dedicate this award to the amazing staff and volunteers who are absolutely marvellous.
01:36And they'll get out to all this charity.
