A new poll, conducted by Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, has found that nearly 80 percent of Taiwanese people do not agree with Beijing's claim that Taiwan will eventually be unified with China. A similar percentage of respondents said they disapproved of Beijing demanding that other countries abide by its "One-China" Principle.

00:10which manages relations with China. The survey also found the majority of people disapprove
00:16of China, demanding that other countries abide by its one-China principle. Almost 70 percent
00:22of respondents said they're open to dialogue between the two sides as long as they're treated
00:27as equals. Many also agreed with several of President Lai Qingda's moves to combat what
00:32he calls Chinese influence and infiltration.
