The chair and vice chair of the Taiwan People's Communist Party have been found not guilty of accepting funds from China to influence local elections after the Taipei District Court found insufficient evidence for a conviction.

00:17Prosecutors say they have maintained close ties with officials at China's Taiwan Affairs Office for years
00:22and ran for public office with funding from Beijing.
00:26But the Taipei District Court says there is not enough evidence for a conviction and ruled the two not guilty.
00:33The case can still be appealed.
