Shadow Housing Secretary Kevin Hollinrake says he is “fairly confident” the “President Trump storm will pass" in terms of international trade as the US Court of International Trade blocks Donald Trump’s global tariffs calling them “unlawful”.

00:00Nation states do have checks and balances, although also they've got a right to act.
00:05And it's always difficult to predict exactly how Donald Trump, President Trump, is going to act.
00:11Usually it sets the scene for a negotiation rather than being something that is going to implement long term.
00:17I think I'm very confident the President Trump storm will pass in terms of international trade.
00:24And there'll be a settled position because fair trade internationally is good for nation states.
00:31It's good for economies. It's good for individuals and citizens and businesses within those economies.
00:37So I very much hope there'll be common sense will break out and they will end up in a settled position that everybody can trade happily within.
