00:00I think it's a real shame because I've met so many incredible students from the
00:04Graduate School of Education who are international students and some of my
00:07best friends are from the international space and I've learned so much from them
00:12and I think when we start limiting the diversity of the student body then it's
00:19really limiting the learning experiences for students because it's not just about
00:22what we learn in the classroom it's also about the interactions in the space in
00:26out of classroom spaces and peer interactions I do think that cutting
00:31funding not only for you know this university but universities generally is
00:35very ridiculous I think that research funding intellectual independence are
00:40things that have made the United States strong have made universities strong or
00:43is the reason that we are like a beacon for the rest of the world and I think
00:46that undermining those things cutting those things is not only a bad short-term
00:51view but a horrendous long-term view I just think it is so ridiculous and
00:56abominable to one to do that to students who are coming here for their own
01:01interests and for the benefit of all of us actually but to do that and harm them
01:06with the goal of coercing a university is just abominable to be honest it just
01:11feels like our learning or the freedom of learning is under attack essentially
01:18and so it's it's worrying really worrying I see that Harvard's really standing up
01:24against what he's doing and I'm very proud that they've it really stood up
01:29against what he's doing and standing up for what's right in in this education so
01:34I hope that other schools can know that there are schools who are are it's it's
01:40not easy to do the right thing so I hope that it inspires other schools to not
01:45take the easy route and choose to do the right thing and stand up against this
01:49administration
