The Trump administration has revoked Harvard's SEVP certification, suspending its ability to enroll international students for the 2025–26 academic year.

00:04U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has taken a direct aim at Harvard University.

00:08Under the leadership of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, Harvard's certification under the Student

00:13and Exchange Visitor Program has been revoked, effectively barring the university from enrolling

00:18international students for the 2025-2026 academic year. The move is set to impact

00:24approximately 6,800 students worldwide, including nearly 788 from India. Noem accused the university

00:30of fostering violence, anti-semitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party.

00:35The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security had requested a bunch of documents

00:41from Harvard related to international students. The Department of Homeland Security has given

00:45Harvard 72 hours to meet six conditions to potentially reinstate its Student and Exchange

00:50Visitor Program certification. Harvard must submit records of any illegal,

00:57dangerous, or violent activity involving non-immigrant students in the past five years.

01:06Share complete disciplinary records for all non-immigrant students.

01:10Submit any audio-video evidence of protest activities involving non-immigrant students.

01:26as quickly as they can to get answers to students about how they can stay on campus.

01:31Harvard called the administration's action unlawful. The university said it is working

01:35to assist affected students and condemn the move as harmful to both its academic mission

01:40and the broader national interest. International students make up more than 25% of Harvard's student body,

01:45with the majority enrolled in graduate programs and representing over 100 countries.
