00:00And when we look through the schedules that get released, Washington is now one of those that you run to.
00:07Where did the NFL put them? How many primetime games?
00:09And one thing that jumped out to me, Joe, is actually their Week 18 game, where I think that, and we'll see ultimately what's on the line when we get to the finale,
00:18but I feel to some degree the schedule makers were saying, man, we hope Sunday night is an NFC Championship game rematch between the Commanders and the Eagles.
00:28I think the league is buying what Washington offered up last year as a whole.
00:35Oh, absolutely. And I think they're definitely in a contention for a wild card spot, potentially challenging the defending Super Bowl champs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
00:45I still think they're a step behind and a cut under where Philadelphia is entering the season.
00:50But you look at the schedule, Kev, the last four games of the regular season are divisional opponents.
00:56It's two games with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas, and the New York Giants.
01:01If Washington's going to get back to a wild card or a playoff appearance, they need to at least go, potentially, in my opinion, 3-1 in those games.
01:09You know, the schedule comes out and I start to look at what games interest me, but also when do I get to hang out with Lisey?
01:17What do I get to watch when I'm hanging out with Lisey?
01:20And there is one game that's circled up just a little bit because Bears Commanders last year we weren't together for and to some degree, thank goodness, because my eardrum would likely still be shattered after that Hail Mary was completed.
01:36The NFL goes Monday night style for the second go-around for those two, what the league hopes are superstars in Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels.
01:48But Caleb Williams will have plenty of pressure on him before that Monday night game because he starts year number two on Monday night at home against Minnesota.
01:59Any takeaways as we get ready for year number two for Caleb Williams?
02:03Well, everything is there for Caleb to step up this year.
02:07They revamped the offensive line with Joe Tooney.
02:10We know that he was sacked 60-plus times last year.
02:13You want to give him time to obviously locate all the wide receivers.
02:17And Loveland, now the new tight end in terms of Chicago, he didn't do a very good job in terms of the progression,
02:23implementing Colt Clement for much of the regular season, right?
02:27Now you have an above-average tight end.
02:29You hope to run the football.
02:31You have a revamped offensive line, but the expectation with Ben Johnson is there to win nine games.
02:36I mean, we're not talking about this team, Kev, to be a six- or a seven-win football team.
02:41The expectation since Caleb Williams has been there has been be a nine-and-eight, ten-and-seven football team
02:47and make the wild card.
02:49That's a very difficult matchup with Brian Flores and Minnesota's defense, right?
02:54They're going to come and they're going to bring it.
02:56They're going to challenge him to make reads, force audibles, and that's a tough week one matchup,
03:01especially when we know how Minnesota stepped up in the regular season last year.
03:05But I think right now they're about a seven- or an eight-win football team,
03:08and I'm talking about Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears.
03:11Now my question, Joe, is I know that you're obviously more in on Daniels than Caleb,
03:18but did you find yourself maybe buying a little more Caleb Williams stock
03:22after you found out that he actually tried to avoid going to the Chicago Bears
03:27and having anything to do with Matt Eberflus?
03:29You were screaming it from the mountaintops here.
03:32It seems like Caleb Williams heard you.
03:34Yeah, he did, right?
03:35I mean, I wouldn't want to go to Chicago either.
03:37Now that being said, they did a terrible job, though.
03:40Bindy City Jolly.
03:42I mean, where is the best quarterback in Chicago Bear history, right?
03:45Jim McMahon, I mean, not an all-pro athlete and quarterback, right?
03:50You could talk about Rex Grossman and Jay Cutler as some of the best in Bears history
03:55and Mike Tomczak as well.
03:56But, you know, Caleb does have that ability.
03:59Can they develop a game plan around him?
04:01And that's why you bring in Ben Johnson.
04:03They should have did it last year, quite honestly, Kevin, because we talked about it.
04:08You're now another year removed.
04:10Caleb could have had that development with a first-year head coach.
04:14I thought they did a terrible job bringing back Eberflus in that type of situation.
04:19But Ben Johnson's a coach that could get the most out of Caleb,
04:23and we know he loves to run the football.
04:25He's got two big-play running backs in Roshon Johnson and DeAndre Swift.
04:29So as long as they can run the football and stay in manageable third downs,
04:33they should be okay from an offensive perspective.
