00:00Are you an NFL Christmas guy?
00:02Like when you saw the Christmas games, you were like, oh, sweet.
00:06I like the Christmas games.
00:10Well, what's funny is that it was revealed to us last year
00:15and put my favorite team in the worst possible scheduling position
00:20in the history of the NFL.
00:22So while I love Christmas and I love the NFL,
00:26I'm left with maybe a little bit of a –
00:30the scab is still healing on what happened to the Steelers
00:33at the end of the year based on what is considered
00:36maybe the hardest stretch of a schedule in the history of the league.
00:40But, sure, let's get fired up for it.
00:43I definitely look at the specialty games when we're talking about
00:47Thursday night schedules, Monday night schedules, Sunday night schedules.
00:52Obviously, that's a really serious trifecta that we have this Christmas time
00:58where you have three divisional matchups and teams that could really be involved
01:03in the thick of the playoffs.
01:05Obviously, quarterback changes in one of those spots.
01:09It's a huge one that we'll be looking at for Minnesota.
01:13Will Minnesota be in the mix that late in the season like they were last year?
01:17I think there's going to be questions for all these teams to answer.
01:20Dallas right there with them.
01:21So, I think those are great games.
01:24I wonder if they're going to keep them as divisional matchups moving forward.
01:30But we have them on a Thursday night this year as opposed to a Wednesday.
01:34It makes the scheduling a little bit easier.
01:37It definitely makes it easier.
01:39Look, me not being in on NFL Christmas is rooted in being an NBA guy
01:43and how – I mean, it's just a rout and it's an onslaught and it's rude.
01:49But here's my thing.
01:53Could they have added a little bit of extra –
01:54Maybe that's your mind, Kev.
01:56No, they don't.
01:56But, Mike, could they put a little extra creativity in when they were trying
01:59to come up with this?
02:00They're like, hey, listen, Christmas, what should we do?
02:03And somebody went, well, we do the Cowboys and Lions on Thanksgiving every year.
02:07And they went, great idea.
02:09We'll just put them on the road this time.
02:11It's like, guys, that's not – what are we – Dallas is – I mean,
02:14does Dallas only play on Thursdays this season?
02:17I just – I don't know.
02:19I think we could use a little more creativity, if you will, Mike,
02:22when I look at these games.
02:24Totally fair criticism.
02:25I agree.
02:26I think you want a different look at it.
02:28It's not like – now, the Lions are good now, but you have to understand,
02:33for most of my life and yours, they've been terrible.
02:36And we watched them get murdered every Thanksgiving.
02:41For decades, we watched this.
02:44And watched coaches get fired because they were – from the Detroit Lions
02:50because they were so bad on Thanksgiving Day.
02:53Shout out, Matt Patricia.
02:54But I'm with you.
02:56I think they should have been a little bit more creative
02:58and maybe mix in a few teams there.
03:01But like you said, the regular cadence of Thursdays for your Cowboys
03:06might be helpful to them in the long run.
