Meet Alison Campsie - The Scotsman Heritage Correspondent
Transcript
00:00Our deep history and the people and places that have forged Scotland's story is an endless
00:06source of fascination. My name is Alison Campsey, I'm the Heritage Correspondent for The Scotsman.
00:13My aim is to bring these stories of our past to life for all of us. Thousands of years
00:19are covered as we explore Scotland through time, from the ways of the fairy ancient civilisation
00:25to the more modern living memories that touch every one of us. Picts, Vikings, Jacobites
00:31are among our most popular subjects, as are the traditions, the customs, the languages
00:36and the land that defines us. People lie at the heart of every story and the
00:42same is true if you're reporting something that happened 5000 years ago or 5 minutes ago.
00:48Scotland as we know is home to an amazing array of historians, archaeologists and researchers
00:54whose work every day enhances our timeline and changes how we think about history. New
01:00discoveries are explored as narratives change and are challenged and we look to Scotland's
01:06past to help us understand where we have come from as we look to where we might be going.
01:11It is a great privilege to report on these stories. I do hope you will enjoy them as much
01:16as I do at scotsman.com.
