00:00The Dodgers on the road in Cleveland.
00:02Pretty good pitching matchup here where the Dodgers are a road favorite.
00:05Dustin May on the bump for L.A.
00:07Minus $130, that updated money line price.
00:09Tanner Bybee on the other side for Cleveland.
00:12Total, eight and a half.
00:13What can we expect today in Cleveland?
00:15On the season, if you take a look at Bybee's statistics, don't look very good.
00:18214 batters that he's faced here.
00:19I've got an ISO power number against of 233 and a weighted on base percentage of 346.
00:24Now, if you take a look at the 99 batters he's faced on the season from the left-hand side,
00:28keep in mind Bybee is a right-handed pitcher, a 278 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 354
00:33and not a great K number.
00:34Now, here's the interesting part.
00:36Over the past month of the season, he's faced 102 batters.
00:38You turn that 233 ISO power number now into 163.
00:42You turn that 346 weighted on base percentage into a 307,
00:45but still not striking out a lot of batters, which includes left-handed batters, only at 10%.
00:50That's always going to get you in trouble in Major League Baseball.
00:52If you take a look at the weather conditions today, 65 degrees, which isn't bad,
00:56but a wind blowing out double digits to left field, as we just talked about that Detroit wind,
01:00which is warmer temperatures but blowing in at this point.
01:02You look at the Dodgers' lineup, and over the past 30 days against right-handed pitching,
01:06it's just a smorgasbord out here, Ben, if I can use that.
01:09A 500 ISO for Itani, a 383 for Mookie Betts, 480 for Freeman.
01:14Hernandez, 435.
01:15Muncie, 405.
01:16Paz, 383.
01:18Rushing, who only has eight at-bats but still a 467, weighted on base percentage,
01:21and Tommy Edmond in the nine-hole at a 407.
01:24This team should be able to hit Tanner Bybee, which, again, brings me to my point,
01:27saying, okay, what's going to happen on the opposite side with Dustin May on the mound?
01:31Not a great pitcher, and over the past 30 days, his 44 batters that he's faced from the right side,
01:35a 263 ISO and a 430 weighted on base percentage,
01:38but he's been really clean against left-handed batters.
01:40Why is that important?
01:41Kwan's a lefty.
01:42Naylor's a lefty.
01:43Ramirez will be batting lefty.
01:44Manzarda's a lefty.
01:45Santana's a lefty.
01:46Schneeman's a lefty.
01:47And also Angel Martinez batting out of the nine-hole here as a lefty.
01:50So you're looking at possibly seven left-handed batters, which, again,
01:53you can't, you know, knock the formula because you want as many left-handed batters
01:57typically against righty pitching as you can get.
01:59But that's where Dustin May actually excels against left-handed batters as opposed to righties.
02:02So maybe a little bit detrimental for me, probably going to be the Dodgers here.
02:05They should be able to hit.
02:06I'm not trusting that lineup for the Guardians to be able to hit.
