South Wales Police are asking anyone with information - particularly mobile phone footage - from Barry Island on May 23rd to get in touch in relation to the death of a 16 year old boy. A 15 year old was arrested on suspicion of assault but has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

00:01South Wales Police are continuing to investigate the death of 16-year-old Taha Sumrow, who died at Barrie Island Pleasure Park on Friday, May 23rd.
00:10Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5pm, following reports that a teenager had suffered a medical episode within the grounds of the amusement park.
00:18The teenager was later identified as Taha Sumrow from Grangetown in Cardiff, and despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
00:26In connection with the incident, a 15-year-old boy, also from Grangetown, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
00:33Police confirmed over the weekend that he has since been released on bail while further enquiries continue.
00:39The force says they are still working to establish the false circumstances surrounding Taha's death.
00:44The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries and reviewing evidence from the area.
00:50As part of their appeal for information, South Wales Police are asking anyone who was present at Barrie Island Pleasure Park around the time of the incident, specifically around 5pm, to come forward.
01:01They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have captured mobile phone footage that could assist in the investigation.
01:09Officers are continuing to support Taha's family, who have been informed of all developments in the investigation.
01:14A police presence has remained in the area over the weekend as part of ongoing enquiries and to provide reassurance to the local community.
01:22Officers are also reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses in an effort to build a full picture of what happened the day of the incident.
01:30South Wales Police have reiterated that speculation on social media could hinder the investigation and are urging the public not to share unverified claims online while the enquiry remains active.
