00:00This video was recently captured in Peru's capital of Lima, and this is the Huaca La
00:07Florida archaeological site, where archaeologists have just discovered five ancient mummies.
00:13This site is a 3500-year-old pre-Incan temple belonging to the Ichma peoples. Of the five
00:19mummies, four of them are children, two of which are covered in cloths while the others are simply
00:23skeletons. What's really wild is how old they are, with the oldest of the five being at least
00:27a thousand years old. The Ichma people lived along the Peruvian central coast from 900
00:32to 1450 AD. They later became part of the larger Incan culture. They often lived far inland,
00:38but maintained a high standard of living due to their impressive irrigation methods, especially
00:42for the time. However, the archaeologists add that some of the architecture at the site
00:46even predates their culture. In fact, they say this staircase was likely built by the Manche
00:50agriculture, built around 5,500 years ago.
