In a remarkable unveiling, the potential true appearance of "Juanita," Peru's iconic mummy has been revealed: a teenage Inca girl sacrificed more than half a millennium ago on the lofty Andean peaks.

00:25We made the reconstruction of the muscles.
00:28We used the previous study of the deep of the soft tissues to make everything correct.

00:43Well, for me it was extremely interesting, obviously for different reasons.
00:46One is that I was able to see the face of the ice maiden Juanita as she was when she was alive.
00:54That's something that I didn't think at the time in 1995, 28 years ago,
00:59that we would be able to have a serious reconstruction of exactly what she looked like.
