00:00How worried should we start to be about Juan Soto?
00:02Are we panicking yet here?
00:03He's starting to pick up in New York.
00:05They're starting to get on him, not running out balls here.
00:07He's back.
00:08Now they move him in the lineup here.
00:10Are you just holding pat on Juan Soto?
00:12How worried are you about Juan?
00:16Yeah, you know, I think I'm a little bit concerned because if you remember,
00:21he had a season similar to this before he was with the Yankees.
00:26He was with the Padres.
00:27It was a little bit of a down year.
00:29He hit 27 homers, hit 270, excuse me, hit 242 that year with the Padres.
00:38It wasn't a great year.
00:40So, you know, we've seen it before, I guess is what I'm saying.
00:44So if he does it again, I mean, it shouldn't be that shocking, right?
00:49Yeah.
00:50And, you know, I mean, he even said, I believe he said about the Aaron Judge
00:55not hitting behind him.
00:56So, you know, that was bothering him, which is nuts because Pete Alonso is sick.
01:03So I don't know.
01:03Maybe he's just a little bit uncomfortable there.
01:06The pressure of the $765 million contract maybe is weighing on him a little bit.
01:16Yeah.
01:16I mean, I have no real, like, huge insight as to him turning around.
01:23Like, his numbers look relatively similar to previous years.
01:27But it's that, you know, the grounders to second base that really, and it's not just,
01:32I'm not just saying that because he doesn't, you know, he doesn't hustle down the line.
01:36So he's not running hard when he hits a ground at a second.
01:39I'm talking about the ground balls just in general.
01:42His ground balls are now over 50%, which is really bad.
01:46But it's also, like I said, it's what we saw that one year with San Diego when he struggled.
01:52So it's a similar pattern to when he struggled previously, which is, you know, it's pretty
01:58concerning for redraft leagues, at least.
02:02I mean, I imagine he will come out of it.
02:04And, you know, if you have him in a dynasty league, I wouldn't sell low.
02:08But if you have him in a redraft league, you know, if you could trade right now Juan Soto
02:14for Pete Crow Armstrong, that sounds incredibly crazy in, like, the first week of the season.
02:20But now, as we move towards June, yeah.
02:24I mean, that doesn't really sound that nuts to me right now.
02:29Gray, Ronald Acuna Jr. returned his first pitch.
02:33He hit a home run.
02:34He also got a hit.
02:36I mean, it's a really good sign.
02:38You know, what do you make of, you know, just generally speaking, we see this a lot
02:42of times, players who miss a long period of time, they come back, they do what they're
02:47doing.
02:47And you said you turned down a trade for Pete Crow Armstrong.
02:50Like, is this trade, it's very hard to, like, envision having Acuna, holding him this
02:56long, and then trading him.
02:58But it may be the best thing to do, right?
03:00Like, this is the moment.
03:01It feels like a hot baseball card.
03:02Guy comes up, does well.
03:04Yeah.
03:05Yeah, that's so true.
03:06I, you know, you're, you're saying that, and it's like clicking in my head that I should
03:10probably trade Ronald Acuna Jr.
03:13I have him.
03:14I have him in certain leagues.
03:15You're right.
03:16Because that is the feeling.
03:18Like, you get him back, and it's like, after so long of holding him, you're like, oh my
03:23God, any homers on his first pitch he sees?
03:25I'm like, oh my God.
03:27It's like, I won the lottery.
03:28It's like, no, you didn't win the lottery.
03:31You drafted him in the second round.
03:34You barely have one.
03:36You have, like, one game.
03:38What are you doing?
03:39Yeah, but you're right.
03:40I know, it feels like you really kind of want to move him right now.
03:44I, I worry about his running, you know, because, I mean, the knees just, they don't seem like
03:51they can hold up for him.
03:53Unfortunately, I mean, I want him to be able to steal bases, and if he's just hitting homers,
03:58as good as that is, it's replaceable.
04:01So, yeah, I don't know.
04:03I'm, I'm, now you've bummed me out.
