00:00Just past the security cordons of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center where the 46th Arsian
00:10Summit and related summits are being held, another showcase is unfolding. Apart from the focus on
00:16policies, Malaysian product exhibitions and booths are on full display, with delegates and visitors
00:23alike getting to experience the country's diversity and cultural heritage. Vietnam National
00:28Chilan, who is working with a government-linked company based in Kuala Lumpur, says the exhibitions
00:34gives the visitors a chance to experience Malaysia's diverse culture.
00:38We come here today because we know that we have an exhibition about Asian products, so
00:44you want to visit the booths and to see the culture of all the Asian countries, especially
00:50Malaysian products, like Patik.
00:53Meanwhile, P. Vijaya Kumar said the exhibition enables him and his two children, who also
00:59tagged along, to learn more about ASEAN.
01:03What brought me today to this exhibition is to get to know the ASEAN countries better and
01:11also to see our exhibition over here, who is portraying what is unique about Malaysia. So
01:17one or two things that I can touch over here is the famous Batik of Malaysia. Very colourful,
01:23very interesting. That is to introduce to my kids, for them to touch, to feel, to see the
01:30real Batik in front of them. At the same time, see how the other foreigners, especially from
01:35the ASEAN countries, look at our own product and appreciate more about our culture and our
01:41diversity.
01:42As he works on an intricate piece, Ahmad Fatih Lutman noted how Batik is one of Malaysia's
01:48most popular tourism products that showcases the country's heritage.
02:06The crowds were also entertained with a traditional Sewang dance performed by the Temya community
02:11from Kampung Orang Asli Batu 12 in Gombak. Accompanying the troupe of dancers were the melodious sounds
02:18of bamboo instruments. The prison's department booth was also a hit, with many coming to see
02:24the works produced by inmates including batik shirts, songket and pastries. There are also
02:30specially crafted headgears, made by inmates, which are to be presented as souvenirs for leaders
02:36attending the summits.
02:41with a huge ability when we was formed.
