00:29Spectators were amazed by breathtaking acts such as the giant flagpole balancing performance.

00:35Acrobats skillfully balanced and tossed flags attached to bamboo poles 7 to 10 metres long.

00:42The name Cinggih comes from the Mandarin term for the art of costume and masquerade in Hokkien.

00:49The Chinese in Penang first performed Cinggih in 1919, celebrating the Goddess of Mercy's birthday.

00:56The procession has since evolved to promote tourism and was recognised as an Intangible

01:02Cultural Heritage by the National Heritage Department in 2012.

01:08Other performances included in the parade were a lively school band march, dragon and lion dances.
