00:06What did you make of this apparent dramatic turnaround of the fortunes of the Liberal Party,
00:12reportedly as a direct reaction to the rhetoric of Donald Trump?
00:17Well, what an amazing question. Thank you for that.
00:20I think if I can tie it back to an earlier segment that we were chatting,
00:25where I said it is so difficult to get people to change their opinion,
00:30Canadians perfectly exemplify that, right?
00:34So they had one mandate under Justin Trudeau, and most people complained that it was disastrous.
00:41So then they went to the ballot box and said, hey, let's vote for Justin Trudeau a second time.
00:46And then when that happened, they said, here's a great idea.
00:48Let's put him back in power for a third time.
00:52And when that ended, let's bring the next guy who is just Justin Trudeau
00:57in what appears to be a slightly less woke skin.
01:01And so I was baffled by it, but perhaps not surprised in that,
01:07and not to be critical of Pierre Poilievre,
01:10I think that he didn't do all that he could have done,
01:15which resulted in him losing.
01:18I can't remember what the exact numbers were.
01:19I think he was ahead by 30 points or whatever it was,
01:22some insurmountable lead, and then he lost it.
01:25It speaks precisely to our earlier point.
01:28Once people commit to a particular course of action,
01:32it's difficult to dislodge him.
