This Mental Health Awareness Month, we have teamed with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to continue the conversation about mental health, both in ourselves and our communities.

00:00this does take time and i very much like physical exercise and i'll embarrass myself here by saying
00:06this but i think of it in terms of like stretching like i'm very inflexible i can't touch my toes
00:10but if i want to be able to i know i'm going to have to stretch every day for months just to get
00:16a little bit closer and i do think the same can be said about your own mental health i like for
00:21again from my experience like i remember i started you know going to therapy taking an ssri and it
00:26was you know a week later and i was like well i can't believe that i can't do this yet and it's
00:30just it's not working and it's like well sometimes it takes six months to a year before you really
00:34start to notice those changes so i think giving yourself the compassion that this is a journey
00:39not an you know an overnight deal that that also is very important to remember
