Exotic Zoo in after hours fest, complete with TV's The Voice star singer

Exotic Zoo will be opening for a late one in June, and putting its stage to good use and Telfords own Callum Doigne, star of The Voice will be one of the acts performing.

00:04This is Fennel, Fennel's one of our ferrets. Fennel the ferret. And we've got Roy, who've you got?

00:16Jack with... This is Melon the three-banded armadillo. Wicked. And then who's this little fella?

00:22This is Rex the green iguana. Cool, and who's this animal in the pink?

00:26And this is the microphone. No, I'm Callum Dwaney. I'm going to be performing here.

00:32I'm part of Callum the Pookies and I'm really excited to perform at the Exotic Zoo and it's

00:36going to be cracking. I mean, look at all these amazing animals. It's ace here, isn't it, Cal?

00:39It's absolutely fantastic. You know, it just makes me want to come here more because I want to experience

00:44it more and especially with all the lovely staff members and the amazing animals they've got here.

00:48And I mean, you know, when someone says to you down the line, have you only performed anywhere

00:52slightly odd? This is going to come to mind straight off, innit?

00:55This is going to be up there, but I think it's going to be one of my favourites because it is

00:59it's so exotic for me to perform at and I think it really suits the fit in. So yeah,

01:03I'm just really thankful that, you know, they're going to have me here.

01:06So yeah. So has things been for you kind of,

01:08you've been keeping busy with your singing then ever since The Voice?

01:11Yes. Yeah. Been flat out. We released our Callum and the Pookies. We released our first track,

01:16Pretend, which is on my head, next to the lovely feather. I think it was the 18th of April and then

01:22we've got our new track coming out on the 13th of June, which is kind of dedicated to Father's Day,

01:27which is going to be quite nice. So yeah, it's all system to go and we've got some gigs coming up and

01:32yeah, it's just, it's all fun and games. Nice one. We're just coming again with our friendly little

01:37Al. So what's this, is this a bit of a new venture for the zoo then, Roy? I can't say I've known

01:42gigs here before. Yeah, so this was one of the keeper's ideas that we'll do at night at the zoo.

01:50Yeah. So everyone can see something that the zoo wouldn't normally ever do. Our normal opening

01:54hours are 11 till 4. So this time we're now just completely changing it and it's now 5 till 10

02:00where people can see the zoo at night. We've also, obviously, we've got some lovely singers going on,

02:05the animal events are around and the animals themselves. Awesome. And this will be 7th of June,

02:12so two weeks tomorrow. Great stuff. Well, we wish you all the best guys and what a setting for it,
