00:003, 2, 1, start the 36th K of the Giro of Italy
00:30The Giro of the Giro of the Giro of Italy
01:00It's going to start, but definitely trying to be clever and playing a little bit with
01:16the peloton.
01:17I think they have a fair chance.
01:18It's still a long way to go.
01:19We know there are a lot of teams in the back.
01:22They want to get this to come down to a sprint.
01:26So let's wait and see.
01:28Matzi Baez takes the climb for Palti Visit Malta.
01:33More about the cash reward in the...
01:35They never found this passport.
01:37There were some stamps on it.
01:39He must have left it at a hotel when he checked in.
01:42Yeah.
01:44Was not alone in this, definitely.
01:47All right, here's the intermediate sprint.
01:50I don't think we're expecting much here except for one lucky rider to move to the front and
01:55pick up the...
01:56What did I say?
01:57It was 500 euros for his team.
01:59Yes.
02:00Now in 90 Vicentina, as the riders now are going to see the...
02:03As is again...
02:04Oh no.
02:05Hang on Matzi Baez.
02:06Contested by Dris de Bott.
02:08Ah, he might...
02:09Yeah, Dris de Bott.
02:10Ah, he might...
02:11Yeah, Dris de Bott.
02:12I know.
02:13Who got there?
02:14Who got there?
02:15Who got there?
02:16Dris de Bott got there first, did he?
02:17We're gonna...
02:18San Bonifacio.
02:19Ah, they're about the very same two riders.
02:22And Malese is getting involved this time as well, half-heartedly.
02:25And so too is Mali.
02:27Yes, Dris de Bott crossed the line.
02:30First, Mali, Baez and Milesi.
02:34So coming back to...
02:36Isaac del Toro seated alone at the back sometimes.
02:49It was...
02:50It was taken down a lot because probably nobody was really willing to take the speed high
02:55or be in charge of this as Carone is crossing the KO.
02:59I'm in first position followed by Germani.
03:01Amazing ride by the...
03:03Both Italian.
03:04Scaloni then picks up three points in the King of the Mountains competition to move himself
03:08to 14, which is...
03:09Barely scratches the surface of the lead.
03:11Already...
03:12Categorized climb, so he's gonna pick up another three points in the King of the Mountains competition.
03:17The man from Astana, but those last three, four hundred meters taken age on this climb.
03:22He gets to the top.
03:24He takes a lead of about three seconds on Lorenzo Germani.
03:27This is the race for the bonus seconds.
03:29Isaac del Toro.
03:31Juan Ayuso, despite the pain that he's suffering on the knee on the...
03:33On the wheel of his teammate.
03:35And it's Isaac del Toro who is leading out Juan Ayuso to these bonus seconds.
03:39It's second place on the road at the moment.
03:41Because Cristian Scaloni hangs on to take the six bonus seconds.
03:45Del Toro against Ayuso.
03:47Del Toro comes over the line in third place.
03:49Just easing up as Ayuso crosses in second.
03:53So the...
03:55Constantine on Mr. Coutill Machines.
03:57It's a main level.
03:58There's not too much Scaloni.
03:59You can get a command Thalto on the side.
04:01I've picked it up as not as the Supremaha of the Hur钟.
04:03I don't think I'm probably sure.
04:04Like what's my
04:12Do I mean that...
04:14There they're probably should be getting worse Mouse climate.
04:16Now take a look at the route indicates what it should be.
04:18So this is what we did.
04:19I am spraying主 on the way that Eva someone is really designing the chair.
04:21What can Wout van Aert do and Maz Pedersen do to match the acceleration of Isaac del Toro when he goes and who's going to be the first of the riders to launch their big attack off the pace that is now being set by Alpesin de Koenig's Edward Plankert.
04:50It's Pedersen who goes first. Pedersen powering for the line. Del Toro trying to react to that power. Van Aert on the wheel of Pedersen. It's going to be between Van Aert and Pedersen. 150 metres to go. Van Aert locked onto the wheel of Pedersen. Can Van Aert come round him? The steep slopes remain but Pedersen has the power to hold him off. Van Aert with one final lunge. Pedersen. It's going to be victory number four. Van Aert in second place and Isaac del Toro beaten into third with a time bonus.
05:20And for the full time Maz Pedersen steps out into the sunshine here.
05:50Here in Vicenza to claim another victory at this Giro d'Italia. 2025 turning into a triumph for the Dane.
06:01Hard stages like this with difficult climbs close to the end.
06:04Even a climb to the line like this just seemed to be meat and drink to this man.
06:12Going to have a wonderful and a big pack of train tickets.
06:17Yeah, it will.
06:18For his off-season.
06:20So, yet again, Maz Pedersen, winner of the stage in the Giro d'Italia.
06:24Korea victory, if you're keeping count, 54.
06:40For Ryder, who's still only 29, hasn't hit his 30s yet.
06:44Been around for a long time.
06:46Six years have passed since he became the world road race champion.
06:50At a very tender age of just 23.
06:56The undisputed star of, along with Jonas Vingergaard, of Danish cycling.
07:03A country that punches well above its weight in terms of its population.
07:06They produce so many top riders these days.
07:08And Maz Pedersen led the way, I think, for an entire generation.
07:11Yeah, it's definitely on the best part of his career already.
07:18It's a couple of years where it's constant presence.
07:21Whether it's the classics or sprints or happy finishes.
07:25So, very, very good rider.
07:28Now, see again, there is stage results for today.
07:32With a very, I would say, a fair and strong top three.
07:39With Maz Pedersen, Bob Van Aert and Isaac Del Toro.
07:42Which is about to make his entrance for yet another day with a pink jersey.
07:48Another day, another trip to the podium.
07:50Another Malia Rosa, another Wolfie.
07:52It's all becoming very normal for Isaac Del Toro.
07:54His learning curve has been fast and steep.
08:00But every lesson he's been asked to learn, he's learned it very quickly.
08:05Another attentive day in the bunch.
08:09Only once, maybe, was he caught a little bit out of position.
08:12But he very quickly adjusted and made sure that he got himself back up to the front.
08:22He desperately wants a stage win, doesn't he?
08:24I think that much is clear.
08:25Yeah.
08:27Really, I think it's beginning to annoy him that he can't quite get over the line.
08:33Definitely won't be tomorrow.
08:35But baby, why not in a couple of days when the stage will finish.
08:39In another side of Vicenza province.
08:42But in the mountains, in Asiago.
08:44After facing the mighty Monte Grappa.
08:49Yeah, after today, the whole race shifts right over into Friuli.
08:55And hard up against us, well, actually on the Slovenian border.
08:58Tomorrow, before we all come back for the last day of racing, before the rest day.
09:03Pretty close to where we have finished today in Vicenza.
09:07The pink confetti flies once more.
09:10And Isaac Del Toro makes his way backstage.
09:14He'll be back, of course, for the white jersey.
09:19But next up, Maz Pedersen will be back on the stage, on the podium, to pick up another Malia Ciclamino.
09:31And his lead has grown, even if the order of the top eight hasn't changed.
09:40Egan Benal moves up to ninth.
09:42He's at 2.50 off the jersey.
09:43And Derek G moves up to tenth.
09:45And the only reason that they move is not because they gained.
09:48It's just because Adam Yates lost a few seconds and drops out of the top ten.
09:51Still very tight in the general classification.
