00:00Former Pramattang PAO MP Nurul Iza Anwar has been elected as the new PKR Deputy President,

00:08defeating Rafizi Romney with a total of 9,803 votes.

00:13Rafizi and Nurul Iza had engaged in a straight fight for the Deputy Presidency,

00:17a position Rafizi won in the 2022 party elections.

00:21Nurul Iza, who did not contest then, was subsequently appointed as a party vice president.

00:26The daughter of party president Anwar Ibrahim, Nurul Iza was widely seen as the frontrunner,

00:32with over 200 of PKR's 222 divisions expressing their support for her ahead of the vote.

00:38Rafizi, the Pandan MP, previously said that he would resign as economy minister if he lost the post to Nurul Iza.

00:46Selangor Muntri Besar Amiruddin Shari, Negri Sambilan Muntri Besar Amiruddin Harun,

00:51and Federal Minister Chang Lee Kang defended their vice president positions,

00:54while Sungai Buloh MP Ar-Ramanen completed the list of four elected vice presidents.

01:00Meanwhile, PKR Information Chief Fahmi Fadzil secured the highest number of votes

01:05in the PKR Central Leadership Council election for the 2025-2028 term.

01:10A total of 32,030 delegates were eligible to vote in the PKR Central Leadership elections.
